I also had a hard weekend. My daughter and son in law came home. I haven't seen them in 6 months. It was great. They are in the Army so I don't see them very often. This should have been the best weekend ever. I guess it was the best, until I stepped on the scale. We went to the fair. Spent alot of time in the beer tent. I knew beer would be bad, but I had no idea it would be this bad. 3 lbs!!!!!!!. I guess I start over again.

yep- if you have a collision with beer, drink extra water and step away from the scale a few days, and you'll normally be able to recover in pretty short order...as long as you don't keep running into it regularly. lol

Here's a very interesting article on alcohol and low carb eating: The Low Carb Connoisseur: Article - Alcohol on a Low Carb Diet Hard liquor has no carbs, but only the individual knows if it will trigger cravings or not. This article has a lot of food for thought on the subject of drinking alcohol on a low carb regime. I hope it helps more than confuse!

| Thanks for the link, Nita! That's a good one. Here's our FAQ on it - Is alcohol permitted in low carb eating programs? | LowCarbEating If you're going to drink - Wine is okay (dry, not sweet) and always avoid any sweet, sugary drinks. Lite beers, a mixed drink with a SF mixer occassionally, etc. you can do, but do realize your body will always burn that off before fat, and know that if you do drink regularly, you'll most likely not lose much weight. if you are drinking, it's also very important to remember that low carbing significantly increases your sensitivity to alcohol. In other words, you become a very cheap date! So please plan ahead and take this into account. Safety first! ![]() |

Thanks for the info. With summer BBQs I don't want to feel left out. I was thinking a nice light beer or mixed drink with diet soda should be OK. Its not like I will be drinking everyday just want to enjoy a weekend with friends and family.
