| Hello to All, I'm back from my high carb, high fattening, chocolate, ice cream, fast food fueled depression. I needed to make some decisions, and one of them was to go back to my low carb induction phase. I'm happy to be back and I'm ready to complete induction this time and release some weight. You know eating high carbs really isn't all it's cracked up to be. I cried while I ate spoonfuls of Edy's cookie dough ice cream, then I cried every time I got on the scale. Well, at least this time if I cry it'll have to be while I'm munching on bacon, which will probably be a difficult since I find the crunch of bacon very distracting. It's hard to go into a deep depression while your eating a salad or a piece of chicken. The low carb naysayers should add that to the list of negatives about low carb eating. It prevents dieter's from feeding their depression binges. |

| Good to see you again! ... and you are SO right! Eating to combat depression is a vicious cycle. Eat that bacon, and chicken and salad, my friend. ... and throw in some tuna salad w/ real mayo, rolled up in a romaine lettuce leaf.

| brian: I'm in exactly the same boat. I lost 68 lb., from 236 to 168, in 2005. I kept it off for about six months, but this weekend something snapped when I realized I was back up to 221 and had to go back on the diet.

| Welcome back--and it really does help to think of low-carbing as a lifestyle choice, not a diet. If you return to the way of eating that made you gain in the first place (I speak from experience), you just gain again. Visit often to keep yourself as "up" as possible and committed to staying on track.

| Welcome back to everyone recommiting themselves to low carb! Making the first step is usually the hardest part. Those first few days may be little tough too but you know it will be so worth it. And if you fall, just get right back up. Happy Low Carbing! |
