Default Back AGAIN!!!

I have been back and forth! SORRY!!! The last time I posted me and my wife were on the same page, we were both going to LC, well its changed since then but we both have set our goals. We both want to lose 100+ lbs. She thinks the only way for her to do that is limit her calories, so shes staying around 1200 cals. a day or less. I am starting out doing 20 carbs or less a day.
We both are starting out walking a mile every day shooting for AT LEAST 365 miles this year, if we don't get a mile in one day well thats still a mile that has to be made up. If we progress into more than 1 mile/day thats great to.

I need tips for where to shop for foods that i can get creative with. I've looked at some recipes and some sound real good but i cant seem to find the store that has some of the ingredients, I'm drawing a blank right now of what ingredients but even the simple one like liquid splenda... have not seen this in the store.
I feel I need to have alot of variety to help me succeed. I'm trying to stay lean in meats and eat chicken and fish and i got sirloin patty's last night for dinner and cooked them in our Nu-wave oven, that really got alot of the grease out of them!

Our goal is when we lose 100+ lbs each (me and my wife) we're going to Hawaii. She's always wanted to go there, but we've dreaded the long flight, but 100 lbs lighter it should be much more bearable. lol

I'm still convinced this is the way of life for me, the only way this body can get and stay healthy, and with more and more doctors thinking its a good way of life that gives me even more confidence.

I thank everyone that helped me before and I feel a little guilty, for letting you all down. You guys look at these boards everyday and see someone that is reaching out or asking for help and then that person QUITS!! Well I'm not quitting this time. This is the only way...a life style change! Its simple eat carbs get fat, dont eat carbs lose weight. How simple can it be

I put up my avitar. Thats my wife and I in Florida. Needed to resize it but couldnt.

There are quite a few of us BACK AGAIN! so welcome Home and pull up a chair (only temporarily of course - we can't sit around much)

I know this is the plan for me, but have been unable to nail it down in my head to stick to it. This is my year also. For Health, for Happiness, and for just getting to love myself again.

Bset of luck to both of you in your chosen plans.

Don't feel guilty. A lot of us have left low carb and come back, because we know it works. So, welcome home.

As far as finding ingredients, you might have to buy some things online. Netrition has a good selection of low carb items. I like FiberFit, which is a liquid Splenda with fiber in it, but it's not as strong as liquid Splenda. With Sweetzfree, which is liquid Splenda, 1/4 tsp equals a cup of sugar. With FiberFit, a tsp equals 8 tsps of sugar. I have bought both, but for sweetening tea or the one minute muffin, I usually grab the FiberFit. For a cheesecake or other baked goods, I use the Sweetzfree. You get Sweetzfree at Sweetzfree no calorie sweetener. It's expensive, but since you use it by the drop, that little bottle lasts for months.

I wish both you and your wife much success.

Welcome back, Tim.

I also use Sweetzfree for sweetening, and get many products that I can't get locally through Netrition. They have a flat rate shipping option which is very reasonable.

Best of luck to both you and your DW.

Glad to have you back, Tim. No apologies required. People come and go all the time, for a variety of reasons. I am actually very pleased that folks decide to come back here, and many consider it their "LC Home" on the web.
