Default Gregg, I'm in the same boat, back again too

Well,
I lost about 120 pounds on LC in 03-04
geez, my last visit here was 12/30/04, time sure flies.
anyway, I've gained back about half of what I lost, mostly over the past year.
I did manage to maintain for three years, and I'm pretty happy about that.
I still eat no processed sugar, it is the pizza, fries and chinese food that got me.
A slippery slope for sure, and for me LC was usually an all-or-nothing thing, cheats knocked me way off, and over time they add up.

Lately I've been trying to vividly remember how it was eating strictly LC, how great I felt, all the energy, no hunger, dropping 1/4 to 1/2 pound nearly every day. I'm really getting myself psyched up to have another go at it. I always recognized that even if I did fall back into my old ways I still had the knowledge to get back on track.

LCE forums helped me so much the first time around, I'm so happy it's still going.

Yes jaybone I think you're right, we are in the same boat!

It's interesting that even though we both fell off the wagon, when the time finally came to 'face the music' and 'pay the piper', we both knew what plan to follow. I didn't give it a second thought. It's LC without a doubt. What other plan let's you eat when your hungry? That's a biggie for me! Since we both have had success on this plan and with the help of this board, there is no doubt we can do it again right?

So when's your start date?

Three days ago, and man do I feel like crap.
But i've been here before, and I know that in a few days I'm going to feel great, then when I get some ketones flowing in a week or so I'm going to feel like superman.

my girlfriend is on weight watchers and starves herself while I eat steaks and bacon,
so no, there was no question at all what plan to follow.
I never really left, the cheats just became worse and closer together and over time added up. At least I don't have the sugar additction this time.

Same with me too bone, I wasn't eating a lot of ice cream or real sugary stuff, just things like rice, pizza, and breaded chicken in large quantities.

Well, the 'metabolic shift' only took about 24 hours of hell this time around.
The first time I went on induction, I felt absolutely horrible for 7-8 days.
This time around only one, I can live with that.

My girlfriend says I reek of ketones already, i've only been under 20g/day for a week now.
Firmly in the zone now; feeling a sense of wellness and balance, no hunger to speak of, I have to consciously remember to eat sometimes. I do get very tired when I run out of calories though.

So, this shift to ketone burning has been relatively easy for me.

Yeah? I noticed a similar phenomenon. I have been feeling really good all week with adequate energy, no headaches and not many cravings at all. And I've got ketosis breath too! Ain't it grand?

Like riding a bike, this way of eating just comes naturally after getting through the initial rough patch.
I have decided to not weigh myself, not because I'm afraid of the number, or for that matter to be encouraged by the number, but because it is no longer the focus of my way of eating.
I know I'm shedding pounds because I'm doing the right things and feeling great.

I'm not going to focus on any metric other than my day-to-day quality of life, which is ultimately the final word on any lifestyle.

Ya know, Jay, you're right.

How I feel has actually been my best motivator. I've been lucky never to forget how lousy I felt with my prior way of eating. Calling back those memories is the surest "defense" against the (now extremely rare) temptation to eat something stupid.

Good on you guys Maggs and Jay.

I'm not at that point yet myself. A lot of folks at work all started Lc'ing at about the same time and we're always giving each other updates on our weight. So for entertainment purposes mostly, I'm still weighing. I won't get too discouraged if the numbers don't move very quickly as I know the way. And I'm not in a huge hurry to get there so time really isn't a problem.
