Welcome, Sheeba.

Which low carb program are you following? Hunger is not usually an issue with low carbing.

Hi Everyone, This is my 5th time on Atkins. Once after each of my children were born (worked GREAT for the first 3, all baby weight gone) but after my last son, now 4yrs old, it's been an on again off again thing. I'm obviously busier and meal planning is much harder, lunch at the office is a daily challenge and the hubby and 4 kids have to like Bkfst, lunch & Dinner too. A lot of the Atkins recipes are too fancy for day to day (and for kids) and they take way too much time. How do busy working parents stick to this? Jamie

Hi Jamie,
Welcome to LCE!! We're glad you're here

First of all, I think it's very important to make the shift to WOE/WOL instead of *diet*, yanno?
That way, for the most part, you will eat, drink, sleep, LIVE the LC lifestyle.
Secondly, if you don't have a book for your plan, get one and read it so you will know HOW LCE works, what to expect, and what foods are on your plan.

Basically, planning ahead/cooking ahead will help keep you on track while keeping the family happy to!
My WOE is LC while my DH's is not. However, and this is the key for me, I cook him the exact same thing I'm having, meat and veggie wise, but may add a mw baked potato, bbq beans, or whatever to his plate, while I omit the carby side dishes from mine. It works for me, and I don't crave or want that extra side dish I fix for my hubby. I don't make alot of *fancy* gourmet dishes, I mostly stick to the basics of fresh assorted meats such as most cuts of beef, chicken breasts, or a whole chicken, salmon and shrimp and lots of good LC veggies such as broccoli, salad greens, cauliflower, which BTW serves as my LC *potatoes*, and many more fresh, green veggies. There are some recipes I use to change up the routine, but basically, grilling, broiling, or baking can change up the taste of a dish and really not take an awful lot of time to do.

Best wishes on your journey to healthy eating and weight loss.
