| I first tried to get back to low carb maybe too soon after my surgery but lost some weight. I got down to 209 but didn't have enough fiber in my diet. I am 5' 8" and right now 221. After eating all of the fiber stuff I knew this wasn't working. I ballooned to 228 (my highest weight in my life). I knew I had to turn this around. I am currently taking Psyllium Husk and Pro Biotic which has straightened out my digestive system. I went back to low carb on May 15. Lost 7 lbs in just over a week but I stalled and started to gain weight back. I am eating no different. I have stopped all caffeine and alcohol. My theory is I went into starvation mode. I am just not that hungry. I typically eat 3 scrambled eggs and either bacon or sausage in the morning. A chicken breast for lunch plus meat and vegetables for dinner. I may have some nuts for a snack in between but not every day. I have not drunk anything but water since May 15. I bought a water bottle and carry it around. Any suggestions how to get back on track? Thanks Dave |

| Hi Dave, Welcome to LCE ![]() Congrats on a great start with the 7 lb loss! That really is terrific ![]() Often times our body will just take a *pause* after such a significant loss. It sounds like you are doing everything right. I would ask if you have added in any exercise yet?...of course with your Dr's blessing. Often times if a person doesn't have a large amount of weight( 50 lbs or over) to lose, it gets to a point where it does go slower. Something to consider. Please don't despair....and don't give up. Just stay the course and I'm betting you will start losing again soon. Also, this is a good time to pay attention to how your clothes fit, as you may be losing inches which might not be reflected by the scales at the same time. Another thought, track a few days in a diet tracker like Fitday.com to see exactly how many carbs and calories you are consuming. The nice thing about the LC WOE is that you don't have to keep such a tight reign on the calories; but for some, myself included, calories do matter, and especially the closer you get to goal weight, often times *adjustments* have to be made.. Best wishes on your journey to healthy eating and weight loss! Post often and let us know how its going, OK? ![]() s

| dave- i can't add much to what shell has already said other than to echo it's VERY common with a smaller amount of weight to lose to have a "pause" after the first couple of weeks. if you're feeling good, have plenty of energy and are not especially hungry, then you're probably doing well. do take measurements and pay attention to clothing and other signs of progress besides the scale; make sure you're drinking plenty of water and keeping up with the (non-bread) fiber is probably also a good idea. but these blips and pauses are part of the journey for most people, so I'd say keep the faith, brother! :
