I lost 35 pounds on Atkins a few years back - I never made it to target weight, but was definitely looking and feeling much better. Sadly, I fell off the wagon big time and my weight ballooned. Now I am determined to lose the extra bulk and regain my old energy and fitness. I've been low carbing for about two weeks and already feel so much better. I got a puppy so I will HAVE to take it for walks (it's a bit little yet). Discipline has never been my strong point but it's really make or break for me now I am over 50. This site gave me huge encouragement before and I recognise some names from the old days, so here's hoping I'll be shifting those pounds before too long.

Glad to have you back home!
And enjoy your new little friend. I'll bet walks are a lot more fun with him.

Thanks for all your support - It's been about three weeks, and already I am wearing some cut offs (the heat in the UK at the moment is sweltering) which I haven't got into for some time. I'm really pleased since I didn't expect to get even one leg into them, but the waistband doesn't pull and I am very pleased to have got past this first milestone.
