Default Recommitting. . .

I spent part of this afternoon cleaning out a closet. I found clothing from many past phases and am in the process of donating much of the old unworn, too big or too small stuff. I noticed that some of the old too big stuff was not as too big as it used to be when I first lost the 40 lbs I did about 6 years ago. I've been letting it creep.

I'm posting here now to make it official to myself that I'm committing again to LCE. I know it works for me; I know I feel better doing it than I do any other way; I know it's a way of eating that I can live with. I'm in a different place in my life now than when I started it before (divorce, promotion at work, quit drinking, etc) and I have to adjust to making it fit where I am now. I know that this is the best place to get the support and ideas I need to make it work.

Now I have to make a shopping list and get moving! Thanks for letting me use this forum to solidify my decision. I hope to check in once in a while when I need help.

Bets

Thanks, Sandi and Maggie!

Sandi, my plan is sort of my own devising. I had been "dieting" since I was 9 years old--and completely abandoned trying to take a restrictive view of eating when I was in my 40s, in order to overcome eating disorders. So "plans" kind of rub me the wrong way. I guess the approach I take is mostly Atkin's.

I did go to the grocery store and stocked up for the week--but they were out of cream cheese!!! a staple! I'll have to go back.

Had the first test when my SO asked me last night if I wanted a big cookie he had gotten at an event he was at yesterday. I resisted. It's the little things that get me. . . . but it will get easier. I'll come to this site for support.

Thanks again and for sharing any ideas/experiences you have.

Bets

glad to have you with us, Bets. And you're right on the money in my book, that it's those little things we act like don't matter that add up.

We'll be here cheering you on!

Fourth day back and having some serious sugar craving, but it's not too long til bedtime. Evenings can be tough when I'm tired.

I can feel that sort of "low-carb buzz" I get when I eat this way--like my body is kind of humming. I think I get used to it after a few weeks. Does that sound crazy? Anybody know what I mean?
