| | Welcome, Jan! As time goes on, you learn to just integrate how you eat and find things while you're out and such that fit in to your eating plan. Are you on a specific plan? You have the book for it? As far as boredom goes, I'd encourage you to spend some time looking at LC recipes. It takes a little time and imagination to learn to LC your favorites, but it's well worth it. Many of us still have a sweet tooth, but we learn ways to satisfy it without blowing the carb bank, y'kno? ![]() |

| | Welcome, Jan.I've never found low carb to be boring. There's just too much good food ready to try. I don't have just a sweet tooth, I have a mouthful of them! I find that limiting sweet treats, even with artificial sweeteners, helps to keep it under control. If I have too many sweets, it can cause a carb craving like you wouldn't believe. I don't cut out sweets entirely, I just have them less often than I used to. When I started visiting low carb sites, perusing the recipes, I'd always look to the desserts first! Now I'm more likely to look at the main dishes and soups to see what I can try. I wish you much success! |

| | Jan- I stay away from the bars because they stall me, although my husband sometimes has them. Shakes don't create problems for me personally (and tend to cause less issues for most people than the bars), and do sometimes have one for breakfast. I started on Atkins and transitioned to a homebrew LC plan, but have been eyeing Protein Power. |

| | Hi Jan. I struggle with the same thing. I keep nuts in my truck to help with hunger while I'm on the road. I also tried the snack pack sugar free puddings. They're not bad. berries with cool whip and slenda satisfies me. I'm a baker so I always have a cake or cookis on the counter for my kids and husband. Self torcher kind of. talk soon. |
