| | hi anastasia...you will get a welcome from "goddess" who runs this site, if you post in the newbies area...but i will just suggest reading the atkins book, or "protein power plan" - these are quite good at explaining things. also - have a look at the recipe area here - a good indication of what to eat. but may i just suggest...don't bother with desserts...skip the sugar substitutes - this is a personal thing for me - others have great recipes with s-substitutes, but for me personally, i find they make me crave more; it's hard to tell what the carb-count should be; etc-etc. take care and good luck! tracy |

| | sometimes i look at the blogs, too. ![]() glad to have you with us. i would echo tracy's fine suggestion that you get a book. i've tried this lc thing twice...once, just asking people that were doing it. lost 12 pounds and lasted 2 weeks. the next time? decided to get serious, do my homework and got the atkins book. that was nov. 2003, over 100 pounds ago. guess which i recommended? |

| | Hi anastasia: I know getting started on the low carb eating life style is hard. You have to re-think and re-learn everything you've heard before. I look at carbs on the lables and ignore the fat and calories. It took me a couple of weeks of just reading the Atkins books and any low carb books I could find, and retraining my brain. I love cake and ice cream, home made mac and cheese, breads - you name it. But Now that I'm eating low carb, I realize how much junk I ate before. It's a process, and hard with a family to feed, but take it day by day. Good luck, talk soon. LisaRochelle. |
