Wise doesn't mean perfect...

Posted 05-29-2008 at 11:36 AM by babybluejay1

When people find out that I have lost 150 pounds many questions come up but one worries me "didn't you ever cheat?" What!?! This question is worrisome because this person is that all or nothing person I used to be. That is how I got up to nearly 300 pounds. This is a battle that is worth fighting everyday for and not just until I eat a cookie. What is the point then because I am not perfect. Setbacks need to be learned from and we grow by them. I do what someone may call cheat. Heck I binge!! I eat a ton of junk food in a moment of weakness but you know what? To love is to forgive and I need to love myself even when I am weak.

Everyday I wake up knowing that I need to take care of what God gave me. Not on Monday, the beginning of the month, just until I can look good for a special day or January 1st but EVERYDAY. It was that moment when I realized that healthy eating was a permanent part of my life and that this wasn't just until I failed again. There is no such thing as failure unless you give up. Everyday I need to love myself. I'm worth it.

Me, too, Heather. If more of us said "I'm worth it, TODAY", then we'd have happier people, wouldn't we?
