Surviving Thanksgiving

Posted 11-29-2008 at 12:03 AM by Cisco

Well, I had two objectives for surviving Thanksgiving. One, I would not go off my LC diet. Two, I would try to get through the holiday without once mentioning I was on a diet. Well, I got by with one out of two. I managed to NOT draw any notice about what I was eating, but I did eat a scoop of dressing with my turkey and LC gravy. Plus, I ate a small serving of that raspberry and pretzel dessert. It's pretty much pure carbs and it was pretty much NIRVANA.

I've been on this way of eating since early September and I've been totally faithful to my diet until now. I was really afraid of going "off" the diet for a night because I've heard several people who actually got sick when they strayed for a day.

Well, I just want to report that, for me, after a day of "semi" going going off the diet, I really didn't feel so good. I was actually sort of sick to my stomach when I went to bed... thought I might throw up, but never did.

So, for me, the threat of sugarbarfaritisis really might have been a reality if I had another scoop of dressing or a more generous size portion of the dessert. I was seriously close.

Actually, the threat of immediate consequences is a good thing. It's not like you might at some point in the future gain another half a pound. This is, like, eat it, puke it.

It works for me. Plus, it gives me a reason to tell my friends why I probably shouldn't have that piece of cheesecake.

Blah, blah blog. Just thinkin' on the day after Thanksgiving.
