Go Back   Low Carb Diet Support > Blogs

I've decided that this blog will be dedicated to random ideas and thoughts on various subjects. I already have a journal for my LC activities overall. This place is where I will expand my thoughts and opinions on various subjects that can efffect how I and others eat. I welcome any and all comments. Now to jump out of the "Box."

It is quite the challenge to get everything done that we want to in a day. Just last month I finished up a 90-day Game of life where I was challenged to get twice as much done as I had done before. It was very enlightening about ME. I'm not all that successfull at getting it ALL done. However, I do get a darn good amount of it done, NOW.
Since restarting Induction on Christmas, I've been challenged with many interruptions in my schedule and planning. This has caused me to think out...

Hidden Carbs & Too many calories

Posted 01-07-2008 at 12:40 PM by dad2bike
Liz & I returned from a 3-day road trip last night. It was sometime on the way home that I made some observations...

While on the road we stopped at a truck stop for some coffee. We picked up a big bag, 1 pounder, of Peppered Beef Jerky. OK for now. We are driving along and both commenting on how good this jerky tastes. Hmmm. So a little latter I check the nutrition label. It showed 6gr of Carbs. Upon further reading,...

LC slips

Posted 12-29-2007 at 08:14 PM by dad2bike
Today TJ & I went off-road riding with our club. Last night I picked up a huge tray of Burritos donated by one of our members that couldn't show. I brought some plastic forks so that when it was time for lunch, I would be ready to open up one of them, eating the insides only. Well, by the time we got back to the trucks I was just too darn tired to mess with it. I looked at the burrito and even started to unwrap it. It was turning into a hassle. So, I just said the heck with it and just...

1972 version of Atkins, thoughts

Posted 12-28-2007 at 12:31 PM by dad2bike
So, yesterday I read thru the 1972 Atkins book. Man, was that a chore. The original version is written more like a novel/Shelf-help book. Lots of discussion of why I should start the Diet. I already got that! I like the organization of my 2000 (I think) version. To find the framework for the 72 plan I had to span several chapters and even learn different lingo. The original version uses "Levels" where the later uses "phases." There were levels and levels and levels......
