I've decided that this blog will be dedicated to random ideas and thoughts on various subjects. I already have a journal for my LC activities overall. This place is where I will expand my thoughts and opinions on various subjects that can efffect how I and others eat. I welcome any and all comments. Now to jump out of the "Box."

LC slips

Posted 12-29-2007 at 09:14 PM by dad2bike

Today TJ & I went off-road riding with our club. Last night I picked up a huge tray of Burritos donated by one of our members that couldn't show. I brought some plastic forks so that when it was time for lunch, I would be ready to open up one of them, eating the insides only. Well, by the time we got back to the trucks I was just too darn tired to mess with it. I looked at the burrito and even started to unwrap it. It was turning into a hassle. So, I just said the heck with it and just ate it that way. OK, I slipped and had a whole burrito.
Noooooo, I had a second.

I find it is managible to stay on LC when I keep to a regiment/routine. I remember when I first started Atkins in like 2003. (got to look up the date) I had my best success by being Fanatical about LC. We even saved loads of cash by not eating out much.

I'm sure that I will bounce back from this little setback. It was not a failure. I successfully found one of those times that tests my resolve. Now I can take steps to avoid those same circumstances in the future.

I wonder how many of us could benefit from just making note of those times when we have missed the mark. Find out, for us, what it was that caused us to weaken and shift our thinking in the future. I'm excited to put this knowledge to use and stick to my LC eating while the rest are going about there way.

I think that's a great way to address those little slips. And if I do start to feel bad after one of 'em, I remind myself how very far I've come: a "slip" now doesn't equal half what "normal" used to be, even on a good day!
