Go Back   Low Carb Diet Support > Blogs > Tom's Random Thoughts

I've decided that this blog will be dedicated to random ideas and thoughts on various subjects. I already have a journal for my LC activities overall. This place is where I will expand my thoughts and opinions on various subjects that can efffect how I and others eat. I welcome any and all comments. Now to jump out of the "Box."

1972 version of Atkins, thoughts

Posted 12-28-2007 at 01:31 PM by dad2bike

So, yesterday I read thru the 1972 Atkins book. Man, was that a chore. The original version is written more like a novel/Shelf-help book. Lots of discussion of why I should start the Diet. I already got that! I like the organization of my 2000 (I think) version. To find the framework for the 72 plan I had to span several chapters and even learn different lingo. The original version uses "Levels" where the later uses "phases." There were levels and levels and levels... So I got the basics out of the book. I even found some great simple recipies that I can follow through induction. I had great success with the 2000 plan. It wasn't until the latest "Commercial" versions of the plan that I got disenchanted with the Atkins plan. Net Carbs are evil. The only carb that can be deducted, for me, is Fibre. My plan is to use the basics from the '72 version with the organized framework of my 2000 version to put myself on an induction that can kick-start my metabolism again. Now to get out into the shed and find my packed up 2000 version...
