I had a thought about the mindset it takes to be successful on any way of eating. It is this:

"Think like a vegetarian"

As I was eating lunch I thought about people in my life who are vegetarians. It is a life style choice. I don't think I have ever heard a vegetarian say "I fell off the wagon and had a steak". Their mindset is more of what foods they will eat as opposed to denying themselves. My niece has been a vegetarian for years and she just lives it. It is her assertion that she is eating healthy for her. She never boohoos over missing meat in any form. It amazes me. Newme2be has a wonderful quote on the bottom of her posts "It is not that I can't eat that, it is just I don't eat that" or something along that lines. Think of what power that gives you. Saying "I can't" conjures up thoughts of weakness, denial and deprevation. Almost as if some outside source is dictating your choices. Saying "I don't" gives you the power, YOU made the choice. You have the control. It is a much stronger statement. Think about that for a moment. Just changing can't to don't makes the statement that you are in control. So the next time someone passes a basket of rolls your way ~ think like a vegetarian and smile and say "No thank you, I don't eat that" Let me know how you feel.

Blessings to all!!!

Remembering how I ate the last time I did LC, I remember lots of cheese. Not so this time. I am eating far more veggies than I have in the past. And not snacking has helped. The more I poundered this I realized that I am not focusing on one food type. I am eating very balanced. The new things I am enjoying this time around are:

:flower:OMM ~ the best substitute for bread ever...I love the flexibility and how quickly you can whip one up!
:flower:Flax meal ~ I add it to whatever I can for the extra fiber.
:flower:Attitude ~ My attitude is different this time. I can't exactly tell you how but my approach is much better mentally.

I am not constantly trying to figure out how to make LC substitutes for foods I used to eat. I am focused on balancing the foods I can eat and preparing them in new and different ways. I just view food differently and I am not sure when that happened. I am glad it did because it is working.

Just some thoughts...gotta love LC.:hearts:

Cool nights and breezy days, it is wonderful to sleep with the windows open and a cool breeze blowing. I feel so energized when I wake up. Now that I have gotten back to LC, I feel even better. My mood has improved and my mind is clear. Sometimes I just want to break out into song LOL! I hope you all are experiencing an amazing first day of summer.

Life is good ~ very good indeed. Blessings abound everyday and I am humbled by the way my God loves me. I was told once that He will not lead me where He cannot keep me. I so believe that to be true. In the past six months there are been some changes in my life and all have brought something good into my life. Disappoints were part of the equation too. Let's see, I lost a job, got a new job, was rejected for show I really wanted to do, got into another show that was tons of fun, got hit by a tornado and survived four days without electricity. There is more but I really don't have the patience to type it all out. Through it all, every one of my needs were met...yes, God is good. Now it is time for me to get healthy. LC is the tool I choose to use to start down that road. I am so happy I made it back to this site. I have been reading different threads and I am inspired by the names I recognize from five years ago! Still here and still living the lc WOL! I am looking forward to being here for a long time too! I am glad to be back!!!
