Being Too Busy Is NOT A Good Excuse!

One thing that can get in your way in sticking to your low carb eating plan is eating with other people. At home I am in charge of all the food preparation. My husband is sweet and will eat what I put before him as long as it does not contain onions, mushrooms, peppers or cabbage. He is very agreeable to my new ways of sweetening foods. His fondness for sweets and desserts caused me worry at first but he is fine with my low carb desserts when I make them.

It is when we eat out with others that I get in some trouble. I had been very good about not touching anything with sugar in it for months. Then we went out to eat with our church members and I did fine with the main meal. For dessert though I do not know why I had to have one. My brain must have been taken over by the sugar devil or something. I ordered a piece of peanut butter pie......I love it and can't resist it. I ate it and it was very good and very small (for the price). One thing that was in my favor was I could only have one piece at the restaurant and didn't have a whole pie sitting on my own kitchen table or I would have eaten the whole thing! Since then I have had a few things that are not low carb or contained sugar.

That is all behind me now. I am starting anew even though for the most part I still followed my low carb plan pretty strictly except for those particular things at that time. No binge or anything like that. I still feel good but afraid to get back on my scale. Next week for that.

The thing I did wrong though was:

1. Being too busy to come here.

2. I was too busy to go to Fitday.

Never again! Those are two things that have been instrumental in me doing so well. I think if I had been sticking with Fitday I would not have eaten even the peanut butter pie. It makes a difference to me to have to record it and see the actual carb count.
