Reading My Labels!

Posted 08-03-2009 at 04:26 PM by katlupe (katlupe's Low Carb Eating Plan)

I have just learned that shredded cheeses have potato starch in them. I did not know this. Since I rarely buy shredded cheeses it would not be a problem normally. But I just canned 23 half pints of cheddar cheese and I bought shredded. I will have to use these and just use them very sparingly for my food.

It seems that if you are not very careful with every single food you purchase there will be something hidden in it that you don't want. My husband does not like many vegetables...

Posted 07-30-2009 at 06:28 PM by katlupe (katlupe's Low Carb Eating Plan)

I am SO psyched today!! I received two books from paperbackswap that have been on my wish list ever since I started eating low carbs. Two on the same day from the same person. My name must have come to the top of the wish list just in time and she listed both of them. So I'll stop keeping you in suspense and tell you the books I got......

Bad Year For My Garden

Posted 07-22-2009 at 11:36 AM by katlupe (katlupe's Low Carb Eating Plan)

Hasn't affected mine yet. But since we have not been getting a lot of sun the tomato and pepper plants have not done well at all. Even my green bean plants which by this time every year have been feeding us daily have not even had one bean on them!!!! I am not happy about this at all. I figure it is to be expected as you cannot...

Lettuce And Greens - A Low Carb Favorite

Posted 07-01-2009 at 04:38 PM by katlupe (katlupe's Low Carb Eating Plan)

I am going to do my best this year to get some started for my winter garden. You should be able to grow greens all winter in a cold frame. After all they are a cold weather crop.

Lettuce and greens are about the easiest plants to grow. So even if you have never gardened before you can easily do...

Which Vitamins Benefit Low Carbing?

Posted 05-21-2009 at 11:31 AM by katlupe (katlupe's Low Carb Eating Plan)

I am researching vitamins today. There are so many that it makes your head spin! I have been reading my DANDR (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution) and made a list of the ones Dr. Atkins mentions. They can be very pricey! But so can bad health. I am not one to put confidence in the medical community and take responsibility for my own health as much as possible. I know my own body only too well.

So I am seeing that I probably need a basic low carb vitamin formula that I found that was
