52nd time a charm?

Posted 08-05-2008 at 12:13 AM by lcfan
Ok so maybe I havent restarted 52 times but I am sure that I may be close to that number. I have been trying to restart since the 1st of Jan. I started thinking of what made me successful in the past with lc'ing when it occured to me that journaling made me more accountable. So here I am, for the 50 something time trying over again.

I really do feel more prepared. I got rid of all the junk in the kitchen, went to the market to get all my lc stuff and have at least a few days worth of menus planned out.

So my promise to myself is to post here at least three times a week but hopefully everyday. To post the good the bad and the ugly.

Todays menu:
Breakfast: protein shake
snack: 2 hb eggs
lunch: ground turkey, 1 tbs of salsa
dinner: protein shake
64 oz water
1 cup of coffee w/ 1 splenda packet
45 min hike

peace out!

Nikki, what plan are you following? The reason I ask is that I see you didn't have any vegetables in your menu. And I'm wondering if you're getting enough to eat.

Low carb isn't no carb. So, is this a usual menu? Or just what you happened to have today?

Some days all I want are shakes or meat & cheese, other days I want my allowed allotment of veggies. So I understand if this is one of your "veggie-less" days, like I have sometimes. But please don't cut them out entirely.

I hope this time is the turning point for you. Getting started, making low carb a daily thing, can be difficult, but journaling is a wonderful way to keep on track. I'm so thankful we have this little community where we can do this.

Good luck on your restart, Nikki.

I do have to agree with Nita's concerns: the first thing I thought when I saw your tracking is, "Is that all you're gonna eat?" Don't be afraid of eating. Eating the right stuff is the trick, y'kno?

Don't think diet. Diets start (and, consequentially, end). Think just changing how you eat. If it's not something you can integrate into your daily life forever, you're pretty much promising yourself failure at some point, you know? 'Cause when you go back to your old habits, your old weight comes back. So think sustainable.

We're rooting for you.
