Keeping my stride up and weight down

Posted 08-12-2008 at 03:54 PM by lcfan

All in all things are progressing well with my eating plan, exercising and my general outlook. I had one slip up yesterday. Seriously, I didnt even realized that I had grabbed a handful of crackers and popped them right in my mouth (wasnt even hungry) and immediately I thoight "Ok, you blew it!" Then my next thought was " well you might as well make it count and go out for ice cream etc" but then in the next minute I said to myself " No way are you going to lose all of the progress you made in the last week....not gonna happen!" So I kept my lc stride and marched into the kitchen and made a nice turkey taco salad (sans the taco of course) and topped it off with some fresh organic strawberries and homemade whipped cream.

I guess thats the theme of this post: remember to keep your stride up. One little slip up, intentional or not is not a reason to go carb wild.....and guess what? I didnt and I feel my committment is even stronger now than it was before.

Peace out!

    Yes!!

YES! That is exactly what will get you there, Nikki.

I get excited when I hear people say stuff like that, because you have just defeated one of the monsters that keep people overweight. Changing that reflex action of feeling bad (and giving yourself reason to feel much worse) into a big "So What?"

An unconscious slip (and extra half dozen carbs) means Nothing. But how you decide to handle it means everything.

Congrats on great catch, oh Low Carb Warrior!

Thanks Goddess! Its just a change in thinking...which can be difficult to do but somehow after all these years of being on and off diets it finally clicked! That mental switch just went right on....I have been on track all day and feel great. Thanks for the support, fellow Low Carb Warrior
