My friend made me the most delish low carb gumbo! I added a bit of chicken to it to fill it up and I am also going to give it to DH for dinner tonight. This new woe is really fun and I am soooo happy that my cravings are gone....for now at least. I did my hike today and plan to do it again tomorrow. I really like getting in shape and the best thing about this woe (besides the food) is that feeling of being satisfied but not stuffed, bloated and yucky. Its amazing how all of the carbs I craved left me feeling so crappy!

Anyway, need to get some chores done and ready for work tomorrow.

Peace out!

I got a lot of house cleaning done, spent time with hubby and took a yoga class.....stayed really close to plan but indulged in a cookie (bad girl) but went right back to plan. I had the best bacon cheeseburger (protein style of course) but I kept eyeballing my hubbys fries! In the end I resisted of course. Did my hike today and my walking partner told me she is going out of town next week on business so I have to make it my business to motivate myself and do my hike everyday....guess I will pop on the ipod and get moving.

Just a little over a month before the office party so I am pretty motivated to get back exercise in no matter what....besides that the holidays are soon to be upon us and I really want to get my miind right so I feel like I have to partake in all the goodies.

Well I need to watch the latest installment of Weeds (love that show) and get some rest.

Peace out!

No real drama going on....just a long dull week that seemed to go on for freakin ever. I have a yoga class tomorrow so I am really looking forward to that. I do plan on visiting my mother for a bit (which can be REALLY trying at times) but other than that I plan to exercise and stay on plan, do some housecleaning and work on my quilt. I also cannot believe how close it is to the end of the year. The holidays will be upon us before you know it! I really need to start a list of all the things I want to accomplish because I swear time goes by faster now than it used to. Seriously.

Anyhow, I am off to take my daily hike with my walking buddy.

Peace out!

Our office party is usually late in October....we received invitations today that it is Sept 27th....mmmmm. Thats still more than a month away but it will be here before I know it! I hate shopping for formal/semi formal wear.....hate al the panic and anxiety that I feel at these events....hate all the office chatter about who is going to wear what.....who looked like a stuffed pig at last years party. UGH! The whole thing is annoying. So my game plan is this: I am not going to fool myself and by a dress a zillion times to small and then starve myself to get in it only to realize that I cant fit it and then run all over town on the day of said event to find just any ol thing. This time around, I am sticking to plan/exercise (as this is a way of life) and find a dress that suits MY body at That time and not stress over the size. I will indulge in a fancy pair of shoes and no matter what size I am I am going to waltz in with my HOT hubby and have a good time and dance the night away

(stepping off my soap box now)
Peace out!

All in all things are progressing well with my eating plan, exercising and my general outlook. I had one slip up yesterday. Seriously, I didnt even realized that I had grabbed a handful of crackers and popped them right in my mouth (wasnt even hungry) and immediately I thoight "Ok, you blew it!" Then my next thought was " well you might as well make it count and go out for ice cream etc" but then in the next minute I said to myself " No way are you going to lose all of the progress you made in the last week....not gonna happen!" So I kept my lc stride and marched into the kitchen and made a nice turkey taco salad (sans the taco of course) and topped it off with some fresh organic strawberries and homemade whipped cream.

I guess thats the theme of this post: remember to keep your stride up. One little slip up, intentional or not is not a reason to go carb wild.....and guess what? I didnt and I feel my committment is even stronger now than it was before.

Finally! After having a steady stream of houseguests and family in and out of the house I finally have a weekend to myself. Unfortunately I dont have the extra money to go wild I am making the best of it anyway. Last night I went to an open studio class at the sewing shop and it was really fun! It ran from 6-midnight and those ladies get kinda crazy after a while. I got alot done on my quilt. Today I am going for a hike and possibly yoga and then I am going to go to a co workers house for a bbq and then when my husband gets home from work we can just hang....maybe go to the beach tomorrow or catch an early movie.

I am so proud on me! Last night at the sewing shop they puuled out chocolate cake, sodas, sandwhiches etc but I had my protein shake and felt totally ok. Here is my menu for today:

B:PB prtein shake
Snack: hb eggs
Lunch: not sure will be at the bbq but it will be on plan!
Dinner: leftover green beans with feta cheese and a chicken burger sans the bun
lots of water
cup of coffee

Peace out!

I bought a magic bullet a few weeks ago and have been on a protein shake kick ever since. I made one for breakfast this morning with coffee, vanilla protein powder, pb2, and a splask of sugar free carmel syrup. So yummy.

I went for my hike last night and feel great! I cant wait to get out there this evening. I do have a work lunch today and I am not in the least bit nervous. I found the menu online so I know what to order when we arrive. a little planning goes a long way, huh?

So here is the plan today:
B: Coffee carmel protein shake
Snack: HB egg, string cheese
Lunch: Grilled chicken, sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce
Dinner: PB protein shake
Snack: strwberries, whipped cream
64 oz water
2 cups of coffe, 1 packet splenda each

45 min hike

Peace out!

As for the protein shakes, I am pretty elaborate with those (I add pb2 and some other stuff) and normally I outeat people who are twice my weight while lc'ing....thanks for your concern. I do eat veggies (quite often) but if you follow this blog you will see that I do have days when I eat lots of them, a little and sometimes not at all.

Now, I am on day three and already down 3 whole pounds! That always happens when I restart and I know that the losses will slow down as I progress so I am enjoying this number for now.

I made it on my hike yesterday and cant wait to go tonight. I also am planning to do a yoga class on Saturday.

Todays menu:

B:Peanut butter vanilla protein shake
Snack: Spicy ranchero egg white salad with celery sticks
L: Peanut butter vanilla protein shake
D: Parmesean crusted cod with green beans (I have them in the crockpot now and they smell delish!!)
S: canadian bacon chips

Ok, I'm off for my hike!

I started thinking of what made me successful in the past with lc'ing when it occured to me that journaling made me more accountable. So here I am, for the 50 something time trying over again.

I really do feel more prepared. I got rid of all the junk in the kitchen, went to the market to get all my lc stuff and have at least a few days worth of menus planned out.

So my promise to myself is to post here at least three times a week but hopefully everyday. To post the good the bad and the ugly.

Todays menu:
Breakfast: protein shake
snack: 2 hb eggs
lunch: ground turkey, 1 tbs of salsa
dinner: protein shake
