Exercise was my way out today

Posted 05-22-2008 at 04:08 PM by Lisa R
Ever have one of those days where your so stressed out you don't know which way to turn. Today was that day for me. Last night seemed to be everybody at home wanted to fight night. My job was having an ice cream social and offering me sugar free ice cream when I was turning down all ice cream period. When will people just accept a polite no thank you as not as a rejection to them but simply what I don't want. Well than comes the donut hole for medicare part D where I now get to either pay $900 a month for my medications until it reachs $3,000 or go without my medications, which of course I don't have $900 a month to pay for my medications. My other option is to find a pap program that will help out well that's when the idea came to me go exercise and I did and everything just melted away as I walked on the treadmill and listened to music. Then as I concentrated on the weight machines the last bit of stress slipped off. Now I feel tired and in a frame of mind that I accomplished two things today I passed up ice cream and stayed on my woe and exercised.

WTG, Lisa. You found a way to relieve your stress, without any damage to your body. Bet you slept better, too.

It's obscene what drug companies get for medicines. Most families could eat pretty well on $900, or even a lot less! I hope you can find a solution to that problem.

Thanks QueenMama, I slept great. I was able to get samples of meds from where I go and they helped find me a couple of pap programs to apply to, just cross your fingers for me that I am accepted into them.

Exercise is a great stress reliever! I often forget when I most need to do it. Thanks for the reminder.

Glad to hear your medical folks are helping, too. They are often aware of options and programs to make it easier. Speaking as someone who is self-employed (and therefore uninsured), I know my Docs have been great about providing samples, for example, and going out of their way in many ways to help keep the costs down.

Good luck, Lisa!
