Ok, so I logged on today and noticed the area where it tells you who is online and how many guests there are.

And I was curious. There were 11 members online and 326 guests! Wow!

So I started thinking, why do people come here and read but not participate?

It isn't a criticism, but a curiousity.

I admit. I came here and looked around for a good three months before I signed up.

I wanted to make sure people were nice (which they are) and supportive (which they are) because this has not been my experience on other sites (no names mentioned, why bother?!).

And lo and behold, someone on here already has discussed that they come on here and read but hadn't posted in a while....

Too funny.

But if you have thoughts on why people look but don't write, I would be interested.

Again, not a criticism to those folks who do....just curious, especially since the ratio is soooo off the charts!

So I went on their website and clicked on diet and exercise. And interestingly enough, they had a "lower carb" recipe section. And this is where they went off track....

Needless to say, I do not think flour, pretzels and regular pasta are low carb.

Now the site said "lower" not low carb, but still....

And I'm sure they meant well.....but what a disappointment!

Ok, so I am watching this show that I dvr'd called I Can Make You Thin.

First I started watching out of curiousity. Then I kept watching because the host does not advocate a diet plan. Not a one.

So you take the techniques and use them how they best suit you. Pretty cool and much like a certain Dr. Atkins says. Do what works for you. Modify it when it doesn't work. Ok, paraphrasing but you get the point!

So I watched an episode where they talked about tapping. Which is a form of accupressure used to reformat the way your mind processes certain information. My take is that it is like accupressure and hypnosis tied into one. This of course is my lay person's opinion and may not be correct.

So I am trying it and I think it works!

But, I wanted to get other's feedback and see what they thought, or what they have heard about tapping.

So what gives? Any feedback out there for this kind of thing?

Had a family event this weekend. A baby shower.

I am v. excited for my sister's baby to come along!

And it was a challenging day....

It is hard to get together with family when all everyone does is press each other's buttons. It is like sport to them to irritate, insult and put each other down. Oh, and as much as I try to stay an innocent bystander, that just doesn't happen.

So I helped to throw this shower and brought a tremendous amount of food. Lunch meat trays and the cake. Good thing I brought the lunch meat because that was all that was there that I could have.

My mother was supposed to be in charge of the veggie tray. She decided not to do it. This would be ok, but I specifically asked her for this so I could have something to eat too.

I hate to say, but I think it was on purpose. All she did all day was tell me that my dress was showing off too much (it wasn't. it was below my kneees and it covered up in the front) and to ask me how I was doing with my weight.

Now mind you, when I weighed more than my mother she would comment and make me feel bad. Now that I am a dress size below her, she does the same thing.

Don't mind me. Just having a little rant here because I could not imagine being this way with a child of my own. And the rest of the family is just as bad. They know I have a problem and they continue to try and offer me cake and sugar. Would they offer an alcoholic a drink? They probably would!

The good news is that my sister received a lot of wonderful gifts and was truly surprised! It is a shame that the family could not just let the focus be on her that day and celebrate instead of trying to bring everyone down to their level. Poo!

I asked in someone else's blog and now can't find the answer.
My question was, what are people doing for vitamins and supplements.
Any one willing to share?

I have gotten v. motivated the last few days. We are dog-sitting and taking the dog for the required walks has been a real joy. Which has me thinking about when I was a person who actually enjoyed exercise!

So with that in mind, I am back in the mindset that what really helped me stay thin and feel great was running.

Ok, I am still a big girl. Down to a size 16 but a lumpy, bumpy size 16! (I like to joke about myself! It's ok!)

But the last two days, I have really been thinking about running, and not on the treadmill.

So again, this is not being self-effacing, but I think I would like to run at night. Just after dusk. I think I will feel less noticable/self-conscious that way.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas about running as a big girl?

All men, turn away now.... I did check out getting a really good sports bra with lots of reenforcement. So I think I have that part covered!:D
