But despite the scale OMG, things are going well. I'm not really stomping the streets looking for a new job - Mr. Man said no rush - think he's REALLY enjoying coming home to a happy wife, hot meals and a clean house!

And it's turned out to be a blessing to have this free time right now. We're throwing a birthday bash for my Mother-in-law's 80th next month
(isn't it amazing how having to face family members you haven't seen in a while REALLY pushes you to eat better???) - and though the family is fairly ok, they really do not have a grasp of details, so I've taken on the 'task' and am having a great time putting it all together.

In terms of my eating, I've taken the time to stock the frig & freezers with good LC options. Thankfully I've all Dana Carpenter's books, so I've been able to really make some great meals.

I've totally given up on Weight Watchers, they were good for while I could hang with their program, - but I canNOT live my life constantly weighing every bite of food. I did it for a year, glad I did, learned a lot . . . but at close to $40.00 a month - well, that's money that can go towards gas!!! ($4.53 plus a gallon here - gaaaaads!)

It feels SO great to be back to losing and to be active here again!!

And it couldn't have gone better if I'd had a magic lamp!! We meet up with friends at a beachside Mexican restaurant for a suprise birthday party for our dear friend Ann. Well that went off perfectly and dinner was great. I ordered chicken fajita and our server was SO cool. I asked for extra veggies instead of the rice and beans - she said "don't worry, I know what you'll enjoy" and she brought me a HUGH chunk of iceberg lettuce to warp the fajita in and extra guac and sour cream - YUMMY!!

Kicking back (finally) I spend Sunday mornings cooking so I've now tons of good LC options at the ready.

I see now, it's better to chug the water, make those extra trips to the bathroom and be happier the next day.

I am SOOOOO tired , but a really GOOD tired, I mean we walked walked walked and WALKED, did so much, not like we normally do - and I'm WOOT about not having to work right now. (no make-up, schlump clothes, curling up with my new tiara . . . yes, I have a tiara, what of it???? *grin*)

DSD and I have made a pact, (so grateful we are so close!) we're doing D'land every Thursday till I get a new job - and since Mr. Man just told me I'm free for the rest of this month - PARRRTY!!! YEEEEEAAAAAA!!

We are on Storm Watch (oo00o00ooo) and so, being me, I'm all ready with thrillers, chillers and murder mysteries . . . AND IT'S DARN SUNNY OUT. ****head-desk****
frick

Ok, well, didn't do breakfast, (*sigh*, yet again) realize it's the sleeping in thing that is throwing me off - BUT, imho, I need that NOW, so it's ok.

Good food choice today - omGAAAAAAAWD, my fav Thai place has *gasp* good LC options. Ok, kinda salty, but LC and full of flavor - Tom Yum Gai, Naked Shrimp (lack of sugered sauces=naked?) and Kim Chee

Oddly, I'm not hungry. I'm doing all my foods on fitday.com so I can see how many carbs I've had . . . and honesty??
If it wasn't for strawberries, I don't think I'd make the 20 per day limit.

I'm going to look into higher carb options (honestly, though I know we aren't to 'scale a day', I do, and I'm down 7 pounds and can SEE it) - I'm concerned about getting enough carbs at this point.

I LEARNED THE HARD WAY - lowest carb intake does NOT mean losing weight . . . it means feeling icky - don't go there!!!

On a lighter side - DD and I are returning to Disneyland tomorrow. As odd as it may sound YES you CAN LC there. It's just a matter of picking your battles - I never-ever-ever eat inside the park. Sound hard? No, it's not. Seriously. My choice is to eat when you are seated and are served - ONLY!!!!! And that rule keeps me on target!

hugs all . . . I hear rainy rumbles in the distance!!!!!!!!!!

One thing about not working - I find myself not having breakfast - it's like I get busy around the house and next thing I know it's almost lunch time. SO my mini goal for the rest of the week is to eat something in the morning!

On a fun note - my Magic Bullet is getting quite the work out these days - the family has discovered the joys of fresh whipped cream!!!

omg, what a week - Friday the 21st I got the beck n' call from the higher up's - as suspected things are REALLY bad with the firm - they let me go!! HOW the eff Los Angeles Lawyers can NOT make money is beyond me - but I did know things were bad, just had hopes they'd pull it together and be able to keep me. SO - yea, it threw me into a pity party and I just spent the last week-plus eating everything that wasn't nailed down (no worries, the dog is safe). So, here I go, starting induction again. I've taken stock and have made the choice THIS has got to be it. I've cancelled my membership to Weight Watchers - I just can NOT hang with those gals anymore - faux food and whining about drinking water - enough to send you screaming to the nearest bar!! I've been doing lots of reading, here and some cookbooks I got, am making better food choices and how funny - this is day 2 and I already feel MUCH better! So a week of feeling sorry for myself (8 years with one firm, I think I'm entitled) and now it's ME TIME!!!!

I think at some point this week I reached that special place where it all clicks. I've had a rocky beginning - but know from reading here that's normal. It's not easy to change a lifetime of bad eating habits, especially in a world so intent on shoving 'wtf foods' down your throat (serisously, 100 calorie packs do NOT make a decent food choice!). I started, cheated, beat myself up, but tried again . . . and again. Hearing others say they too had this experience has kept me trying. And now?? Wow, I've no carb cravings - and that was my problem, I wasn't letting myself purge the bad log jam of carbs in my system, I was giving in to their little screams of 'eat me!' Finding and using the OMM has been a real joy. It's bread like enough that I don't feel at all deprived AND I still get to chow down on some really super food. Weight Watchers was good for me for a long time, but after a year plus? Wow, you can only handle so many Lean Cuisines and 0 point soup. I'm really looking forward to actually attending the meeting this weekend. I've been OP 100% and am actually rather hoping to blow their socks off!

OH, and I don't feel fuzzy headed anymore!!!!:cheer2:

This is a tad long, and maybe tmi, but - what the hey, we're all friends here. Also, I'm honestly concerned about this effecting my eating, in a bad way!! Got a call from my baby bro last night - he is FINALLY leaving/kicking out that gold digging tramp he married (gee, get the impression I don't puffy heart my SIL?) I actually didn't meet her until he brought her to LA to get married (our dad is in a care facility and I'd arranged to have the wedding there) - so I'd hadn't chance to check her out or have her checked out. They met on the internet and within 6 months were engaged (yes, *sigh* my brother had Altar Fever really bad!). They've been married just over a year now - in that time, my brother has dropped the following OMG bombs on me.
After being married for 3 days he tells me she's pregnant (dood, you kept moving the wedding date up, whadda take me for??)
She'd been engaged 3 times before
She has a child from one of those engagements (great, super, I'm so thrilled)
She gave that child up for adoption to her sister, who couldn't have kids (ok, that's better - right?)
She's not happy with how her sister is raising the child and has been making frequent trips back to see her parents and last month the sister said "take your child back" (where o where is Jerry Springer when you need him???)
Thankfully, my brother called me in a panic, I gave him solid advise and he avoided having an instant family. (whew)
She's not worked a day since they've been married - seems her folks think we're the Rockefellers or something.
He's bought her - a new house, filled it with new furniture, a new car and all these plane trips back to her parents.
He FINALLY told her last month that at the rate she's speeding his money and NOT earning any, they'll be dead broke in 2 years.
She got a temporary job, cause like omg-forbid she take a full time job and not be able to laz around???
Late last night - he calls me - he'd just found out she's been cheating on him.
(yes, I had a feeling, all those trips to her "parent's")
now, thankfully I work with some of the worlds blood thristest lawyers - and we will get this taken care of.

In the meantime, he's totally shell shocked but thankfully calling me frequently - they live in another state and I'm all the family he's got. On the one hand I'm heart sick for him - on the other hand I'm having a hard time not screaming YIPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEE ....

either way you cut it, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

Last night stopped by the market, got some flax meal and tried the OMM - omGAWD that thing rocks!! Also clears you out, but wow, what a great find. I learn so much just cruising through the threads here.

Lack of sleep = lack of appetite so I've only had chicken broth so far today. Lunch I've got what I call 'cheesy chicken' - chix cooked with a crust of cheese and mayo - sounds odd, I know, but it's REALLY good and asparagus (yum!) Got strawberries for later and as for dinner, heck, not a clue (funny how that's been a theme this week!)

more later, gotta do some *gasp* work!!!

yesterday -
B- chicken salad, strawberries
L - corn beef & cabbage
D - I pan grilled NY steaks - soooo good and a whole artichoke that I'd marinated over night in Paul Newman's Own

later, I wanted a 'nibble' and did something I would never have considered before - broccoli cole slaw - I've been having this with lunch, but the crunch/creamy/bacon taste really hit the spot as an evening snack!

Though I wanted to hit the treadmill, I had a meeting after work and was happy to get dinner in before it got too late. But I got in some vigorous play time with the puppy!!

Today's meal/plan so far
B- egg salad with bacon crumbled in it, really filling and so good!

Lunch - I've packed up several good choices - BUT it is SO nice out some of us may go out to eat. If we do I'll have a chicken Ceasar salad.

Dinner, I've some left over Tom Yum soup from our fav Thai place - broth, herbs, chicken - LC and oddly low cal too - after last night I'd prefer a light dinner and early bed time.

I make it a point to have several meal options - cause at the butt crack of dawn, you never know what will sound good at noon. Well, I overslept and just grabbed some corn beef and cabbage - yea, *blech* - did that yesterday and really could have gone for a big salad instead (and dork that I am, just remembered I could have ordered one from downstairs - arrrrrg!) I dunno, maybe I'm still worn out from the Disneyland trip? We weren't there very long, but WOW it was cold and I guess that kinda wore us out?? At least my food choices have been good, not thrilling, but good. Chix salad and some strawberries for breakfast, CB & cabbage at lunch - and for dinner - I've a meeting after work, think I'll do up a big chef salad - seems odd to crave veggies!!!

PSA:
let me just say - if the Weather Channel says it's gonna be cold - don't be a dork, dress warm - - - k???

(brrrrrrrrrr and a flying half)

Well, I ate this super chicken thing from Rain Forest Cafe (look, I couldn't weigh and measure there, so I gave myself a 'gimme' on the carbs) - but that dish was only chix & vegs - and - (don't faint) I didn't eat anything else while there!!!

DD and I made a pack, ages ago, ---- and maybe it will help you?? --- we NEVER eat inside the park - EVER!!

If we are hungry - and we both have to be REALLY honest about our hunger - and then - we dine in Downtown Disney. We sit down at a REAL restaurant, order REAL food and have LOTS of water and.... well, yanno, it works!!!!

BTW - the 'Search for Nemo' ride. . . . don't waste an hour (yes, an e'ffing hour) wait in line. Not worth it. Go home, dish up a hot meal and watch the DVD of the movie . . . or POTC (sorry, I'm sooooooooooo hooked on those - yarrrrrrrrr, rrrrrrrrrr and WHAT CODE???)

I'm off, gotta get the DD home from work and kick back with my corn beef and The Quiet Man disc.

(yes, it is theme night here, so don't freak if you hear major Celtic drumming)

hugs!

Friday March 14 - looking over my fitday entries, I see I'm eating extremely low carbs, which I wouldn't be shocked to find out turns on the carb cravings I've been having since starting ANA. Ok, so, I've posted for help, took a good hard look at what I've not been doing right and am ready to start being 100% on plan!

Breakfast - I know, most important meal of the day, but I'm not very hungry in the AM - mornings are such a rush-rush affair. I had coffee with cream and about half a cup of plain chicken salad (chix, mayo, seasoning - plain!) Something easy to eat and quiet while at my desk!

Lunch - roasted chicken from the market, healthy helping of broccoli-slaw w/ crumbled bacon, bacon ranch dressing and some jack cheese (one of the ladies posted this as a broccoli salad from her fav place to eat - I figured, why bother cutting up stuff when you can just open a bag!)

96 oz of water so far and it's only 2:30
(gads, if water alone really worked, I'd be thinner then Nicole Richie)

Dinner - honestly, not a clue - thinking of getting take out for the family and getting to bed early myself. I do have some defrosted steak and there are mushrooms and artichokes, so at least I've got options.

HeatherFace and I have a big day tomorrow, hitting Disneyland - lots of fun, walking and I've already picked out several lc options from where we eat. yea for the internet, you CAN plan ahead.

Sunday however, is going to be a challenge - that'll be our St. Paddy's day. Can I avoid the potatoes? Will my *blech* reaction to the fry yesterday stick??
