Hi everyone, my name is Lindsay; I am working with the Nutrition & Metabolism Society. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of the petition sponsored by a member of the society. The petition asks the NIH to acknowledge existing science and fund research by experts in carbohydrate restriction.

Today is my first day of induction for Atkins! I'm very excited to begin this low-carb journey and start a healthier way of living. I'm sick and tired of feeling gross and fat all the time! I am so determined to prove to myself that I can change my unhealthy ways and become a more positive person starting from the inside out.

I had a thought about the mindset it takes to be successful on any way of eating. It is this:
"Think like a vegetarian"
As I was eating lunch I thought about people in my life who are vegetarians. It is a life style choice. I don't think I have ever heard a vegetarian say "I fell off the wagon and had a steak"....
This time around something is different and I think I might have figured it out. Cheese...or the lack there of. Remembering how I ate the last time I did LC, I remember lots of cheese. Not so this time. I am eating far more veggies than I have in the past. And not snacking has helped. The more I poundered this I realized that I am not focusing on one food type. I am eating very balanced. The new things I am enjoying this time around are:
