i have just made the cauli-mash...with cream, butter, salt and cream cheese - HOW GOOD IS IT?!?!?!. my 3yo and i just shared a bowl, with added parmesan (i love parmesan), and now i have so much hope and peace about the spag sauce i made last night for our groupies. tonight, i will have it with cauli-mash (MMMMMMM)

that's all for now. my husb leaves for germany tomorrow for 10 days, and i'm on my own with kiddies. so, i'll need to make lots of low-carb crackers to get me through the stressful moments!:violin:

for lunch i had chicken rollups - slices with pesto and red pepper. mmmmmmm. oh, and some cottage cheese. oh...and some more red pepper and half a carrot. so far my carb count for the day is around 11 (i don't count milk; i NEED milk!! :)); i had a protein-yogurt-milk shake for breakfast with almond meal added. i thnk the almond meal made the difference - i wasn't hungry when i made lunch; thought i should eat so i wouldn't be ravenous later. made the cheese biscuit thingies (recipe in directory; look up "thingies" ) - how good are these??? i'll have some for a snack later...

okay - gonna have a nap now - if 3yo will play happily while i'm on the couch!

feeling good, lost 2 kgs, now hovering around 87, when for months i was always hovering at 90 (kgs). :yippee: how goooood. Hoping to soon hover at 80 (for christmas party on dec 19th - which will be a cruise around Sydney Harbour). this is in only 7 weeks, so we shall see, but any progress is good progress...and if i can buy a new dress/outfit that's a comfy size 14, all the better, WHATEVER the scales says!!!

take care,

it was sooo nice to just know i was going to have one pancake (and enjoy it!!!!!!!!), as usually i smell them and suffer:violin:. i do love my egg salad though: mashed hb eggs, mayo, a little dill relish,
and then i top it with salsa, and parmesan cheese. very nice! so i ate my fill of that, THEN had the pancake (which wasn't very big, mind you; no syrup or anything; and wholemeal flour...so i'm sure i did not go over my daily carb count)

i feel so much more in control of life these days....

went to the gym this morning at 6am with kym - soooo good to go with a friend!!!! tomorrow is body pump, again at 6am - God bless this girl for suggesting we go early - it is so much better to be gym-ed, showered and ready for the day by 7:30 am!!!!

okay, when i first started low-carb around 8 years ago, i didn't know (much) about artificial sweeteners and baking with them and all that. i jsut ate low carb, and avoided the sugary stuff for the most part. occasionally, when out with friends (or on my own) - i would have something naughty (generally: ice cream ). in this way, i lost around 20-25 pounds over 4 months, and kept that off until i moved to australia and got pregnant . now, i am thinking i will go back to that, and have one evening per week where i can cheat. this trying to work out what AS is safe and which isn't; which my body will or won't react to, and which has the best aftertaste etc is ridiculous (for me, i mean - not you ! ;)). i'll continue having stevia drops in my tea, but for the rest, i will stop trying to low-carb all my favourite desserts, because i think i won't do well with that.

meantime, continuing my 30-grams-a-day-or-less......

i want someone to tell me that it's okay to just cheat today, while i'm suffering with cramps etc...but on the other hand, i've made jello (sugar free, naturally :), that i'm planning to eat with a bit of cream later on (i love that!). Also i could make low-carb peanut butter cookies, or almond crackers, or whatever, without cheating at all! so..no one tell me it's okay, okay?

can i just say it's also hard when the rest of the family is naturally slim...and so they eat everything normal :). we were out of bread, so i bought some more - well, it smells soooo goooood.......:biggrin1:, BUT i will not eat any! not even today!!!

peanut butter cookies it is, me thinks.

meanwhile, went to the gym at 6 yesterday morning, and will go again thursday (and, hoping my friend is up for it wednesday morning as well!)
this morning i went to an RPM class with Kym (gym and church friend). we both decided that we hate these cycling classes  so are likely not going to do any more. at least, not together at 6am! i may go on a friday on my own again (not likely! :). we're doing bodypump tomorrow at 6:15, so i'm really hoping she likes that one! i love it, and i think she will too. she's not slack, just those dang bike-seats are really hard on the butt. leaves us bruised!

after that i came home and had a breakfast of skinless sausage, tomato, eggs, and haloumi cheese fried up together. oh, YUM! and not a hunger pang to be felt! oh how i've missed this low-carb thing!

for kym,, i've printed her out a list of recipes and foods that we can eat on our 30-grams-a-day-or-less challenge. she had no idea what she could or couldn't eat - i'm so used to thinking about it, that i'd left her in the dark!

not much of a drop on the scale yet, but i am premenstual (didn't you want to know that??), and MAY have had some birthday cake throughout last week....(my daughter is now 6!)

later kids (if anyone's even reading this! if not, it's good for me to write it anyway:haha:)

can i just say the atkins chocolate shake mix has gotten me through many a rushed morning? mmmmmmmmm!

I also make almondmeal pancakes and sub about a 1/4 or 1/3 of the recipe with the stuff (and yes, i admit it - one tablespoon of brown sugar :)

today is relaxing; tomorrow and thursday are 6:15 classes at the gym (cycling, then bodypump) - witha friend. the things one must do when one has kids and a husband who works long hours. (could put 3-yo in the gym childcare, but my friend has 2 she'd have to put in, so we're saving money by going early). should be fun to suffer together...ah, i mean "get fit together"!!! :) :)

had some cake last night, but believe i was withing (or close to) my 30-grams or less for the day. no naughties today though.....doing well overall.

oh yes, and has anyone done one of these cycle classes?? the seat is so hard!! not comfy! i suppose that is to motivate you to stand :P

doesn't work for me though...perhaps someday i will stand; for now, sore bum all the way...
