Well, Rob, I've not been a slug since posting last. Just take into consideration that when I'm not posting, I'm working my butt off doing stuff for these slugs who live here in this house.

Friday night I got home from work just in time to start making dinner, while unloading the dishwasher and then loading it again with the dishes the boys dirtied after they got home from school. Then it was time to go over Abby's volumes of papers she brought home from her first day of school. After serving dinner to the crowd, I made sure that I fixed John's dinner and lunch for the night at work. Then had to tidy the kitchen AGAIN.

Saturday and Sunday were filled with laundry, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, mowing gr**** weedeating, sweeping grass clippings from sidewalks, forcing more meds down Abby's throat, hanging curtains, more dishes, brushing Hershey (our chocolate Lab) until she shone....you get the drift.

By the time I lay down at night, my back breathes a sigh of relief. With everything I do in a week, I get plenty of exercise. I go this morning to discuss my bloodwork results with my doctor. Had my blood pulled Friday morning. It's a new rule in their practice that now you hafta make a return appointment to discuss results. I'm armed and ready with information. I'll post the results in my journal. I'll be late for work this morning, but OH WELL.

Glad everyone was just too busy to post rather than being lazy. I just posted that slug comment to get a rise out of people. LOL! It worked!

Got DH a new Harley for anniversary/birthday/xmas. Its a 2005 Black Cherry Heritage Classic Softail. I'll get a pic in when we take one. Just putting some finishing touches on it. I get pedals for the back seat instead of pegs - when they came in they were gun metal - really ruined the look of the bike (lots of chrome and leather) - so we had to get and install chrome covers (with leather detail). DH and I have been getting out just about every weekend - I'm finally reaching the point where I turn off 'but I have so much to do' whining and just enjoy it now.
Not adding much more to it, it already has so much - giant saddle bags, fancy studded seats, etc.

I'm sure glad I lost some of the weight though. The Honda had lots of room in the back seat area. I always had a slouching problem that would hurt my back after a while. Not on this one. Not a whole lot of space between my front and DH back - so I'm forced to sit up straighter - and I can actually ride longer. The Harley is a different ride than the Honda. Not so much better , just different

OK, I walked for 30 minutes again - not easy, since it's been very warm & humid here. <<< hanging her wimp*** head in shame, knowing that Rob has to do this on a regular basis. >>>

Since it was refrigerator week, I defrosted my little freezer which lives in my basement. I could kick myself for not being more organized and keeping some kind of tabs on what's in there and for how long. You wouldn't believe the interesting assortment of freezer burned items I found in the back of that thing ... At least I DO manage to label things ... so I know exactly what I had to toss. Good thing tomorrow's garbage day.

... and, I think I'll have a new challenge for myself for September! I think curves is going to be a "yes."

Talking Re: Couch Fauxtato AUGUST Activity Challenge

Well, I went back work today. The morning workout fit in my schedule just as I hoped it would! DD even got up early (for her) so that she could work out with me. I am starting with a goal that I am pretty sure I can make, and will hopefully add to it as time progresses. I am aiming for 10-15 minutes on the exercise bike, then at least as long on the weights, mostly butterfly-type exercises, and bench press for the arms, and knee curls for the legs. Here's hoping I will follow through and make this at least a 5x weekly activity.

Maggie - good for you. Judy could use some fresh support on the Curves topic.
I think it will work fine for you - they really help you work around what you 'cant' do because of specific area problems.

I did my full circuit workout this morning. 15 min on eliptical, then about 45 minutes of various things (weights, gd ball, medicine ball, ab machine). really works up a sweat and I can feel it. Best part about it is the shower -darn , it feels soooooo good!

Mary Kay - The bike sounds great! Good job on the workout!

April - I know how busy you are almost always.

Maggie - Good job on the walking and Great move on the Curves!

Cynthia - Sounds like a winning exercise/weights combo.

Due to another day of rain I was forced to mall walk yesterday for 4 miles. Today is the last day of August and I'm at 124 or 124.5 miles maybe even 125. depends on whether I count those 1/2 mile dog walks down I hate Robs knees Hill. I probably won't unless I need them to get to 130 miles. LOL

Well, the last day of this month was a total loss. I was booked so heavily, I could barely do a couple of push ups or leg lifts between conferences. I was so over-scheduled that I never got to make my phone call to "Tiffany" at Curves. So, I'm going to have to start the September challenge with getting enrolled in AND going to curves.

Tomorrow promises to be another day from bleep, and the files are starting to build up in my office. Each with it's unique "problem" that everyone is now convinced, only I can handle. Blehh!

Maggie - Sorry you're so busy.

Last day of the August and my compulsive side wanted to reach 130 miles for the month. But I figured if i walked 5 miles and reached 130 (counting the dog walks) what would I have to do next month 140? There would come a point where I could give up my car. So I walked 3 miles and didn't count the dog walks. So I'm claiming 127 miles for the month which Fitday says uses 9200+
more calories than sitting on my B***. Now if there are 3500 calories in a pound then 9200 calories equals about 2.6 pounds. I lost 4 pounds in August so only 1.4 pounds was from diet.

See you all in the September thread!
