Default August Exercise/Accountability Challenge

I guess I am the first to report in this month! Fitting that I get to get older this month that I get to start this one!

I walked a hill repeat program tonight that really worked my thighs. . .I did 2 miles in about 45 minutes with the last 5 being cool down. . .Each time you go through the set of hills they get higher--you start on a grade 1-3 the next set is a 3-5 and the third set is 5-7--I was really dragging trying to go 2.5-1.5 mph up the third set--It is a good workout for the off days for running!

hey all!
husker, i love your new signature quote! haha.
well, last week wasn't so good exercise-wise. i worked out tues nite, but didn't fit any sort of workouts in while i was away on business (wed and thurs). :(
friday morning i was up in wisconsin, so i got up and ran outside for about 45 minutes. it was nice - i don't usually run at the gym, so i was sore the next day.
i also went water skiing on fri and sat. REALLY SORE!
and sat morning i went for a brisk 45 min power walk outside.
nothing on sunday.
back on track today ... hitting the gym HARD!
keep up the good work!

Glad you got this started, was nice to see someone was taking care of this challenge.

Heres wishing everyone a successful month.

I couldn't post my workout til I started it. . .since no one had as of last night. Today's workout--going to try to move it to earlier in the day--before dinner not after--and try to get used to that timeframe. . .going to have to be more efficient with fixing dinner though--since i usually get home from work aorund 4:30 and dinner needs to be done by around 6 and DD has tuesday's sewn up with gymnastics at a weird time! NOt a weird time for Gymnastics a weird time for us--5:30. It may go back to a night to eat out--McDonalds, Subway, Burger King and Wendy's are all right there!

Workout today is a hard one again--will do a mile and a half in about 20 minutes then walk out the rest of the two miles and cool down then lift two sets at the higher weight. I added one last time too--a standing hamstring curl as well as the seated one--boy is it hard!

Good luck to everyone this month!

Husker, those hill intervals sound BRUTAL!!
Good to see you back Carrie!
Carolyn, you the (wo)MAN! This will be my 8th month in this challenge and you were here before me. WTG! I've said it before and it is still true today, you consistency is awesome!
Well yesterday was 2 1/2 hours of singles tennis against some 25 yo kid. He won 5-7, 4-6. I beat him last week, so next week should be interesting! Took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon, got up and had something to eat and went to bed and slept 6 more hours.
This AM it was back to the weights again. I have to back off on a couple of exercises that seem to tweak my elbow. But I am trying to just do what I can do. (Fewer arm exercises and more chest and back) and of course abs!
This month I will continue to do the weights and abs and play as much tennis as I can.
Good to see everyone checking in. I hope more folks will join us!

I think Tuesdays are going to be my night off--with Gymnastics, battalion Family group meetings and the like it is just not going to work no matter what time I go to bed--the gym closes at 10! I just got home! I took tonight off--unfortunately--from eating LC too!

I have to keep motivated to reach my labor day challenge. 9 pounds to go but I think that I can "get close" to reaching it if I work 1 hour on the exercise bike 6 days a week. No cheating, exercising, gallon of water and good thoughts! Been doing really well now that I've gotten over the flu bug that I had!

Welcome Heather!
Yesterday I played tennis for an hour and a half, today abs and 2 hours walking.
Carrie, sorry to hear you have to move. Packing and hauling is definitely lots of good exercise though.

Swimming 25 minutes--about 20 laps--wasn't really counting--just swimming! Had to meet DD's 3rd grade teacher today at 5 and swimming lessons ended at 5 so we were late, but I got my exercise in today anyway!
