OK, I am late to this one, but I would like to try this Challenge.

I am new to the challenge clubs. What do I need to do? I just finished induction and went from 169 to 156. I would love to be at 150 by Halloween!

Hey, everyone! Sorry I am getting the stats together so late! It's still Sunday thought, right? I've felt like garbage today. I overdid it yesterday, "spring cleaning" my house in the fall! And I made some lowcarb chocolate chip muffins that did me in! By last night, I'd had 3 and I woke up 3 pounds heavier than I did Saturday morning! AAAK! I know I didn't drink enough water or get enough rest or take my supplements, so I'm not sure why I'm blaming the muffins! Anyway, here are the stats:

Maxibee: 226/229/221~up 3 pounds w/8 to go now!
Amy G:195/192/187~another pound gone and 5 to go
Brandy:163/163/153~10 to go
Funky:223/223/210~13 to go
Tina B:193/188/187~Wow, only 1 pound to challenge goal!
April:211/209.5/201~8.5 to go
Husker's170/167/161~Lori's only 6 lb.s away!
Cushie:376.5/369/366.5~Noel's in a new decade and 2.5 pounds from challenge goal!
Niki:219/215/199~down 4 pounds and 16 to go
Janine:181/181/175~6 to go
ladygirl:205/203.3/190~down 1.7 with 13.3 to go
DecemberAngel:168.5/168.5/148.5~20 to go
maggie 1:189/189/181~8 to go
Ashley:146/140/135~She's surviving hurricanes and losing weight! Only 5 to go.
Clemmy 2:235/235/225~10 to go
Biddy 22:227/225.5/221~Down another pound w/only 4.5 to go.
Slatelee:290/279/278~WOW! Down 11 pounds! Only 1 pound left to challenge goal!

Welcome these new participants:
Momto3boys:163.5/163/152~11 to go
Hockeygirl:158/158/153~Krystyne has a "goal" to lose 5 pounds!
Sszabo2:156/156/150~6 to go

Well, we had some good losers, some new participants, and a gainer: ME! This group is down about 25 pounds this week! Let's have some weigh-ins from those of you we haven't heard from. Don't feel bad if you haven't lost, or even if you've gained...look at me! On the top of the page, up 3 pounds! I am more determined than ever to make this challenge goal!

Have a great week...and if you need encouragement, please go to the Everything Else forum and click on "Need encouragement? This is a must read." It contains a poem that I found and read when I get discouraged. Take care!

Maxibee:

Don't be discouraged....I went up 7 lbs in two weeks, and took off 10 in two weeks once I reconciled myself to following directions

Unlike some other people, I don't feel bad when I've had too many carbs, so that added aspect of cheating doesn't make me consider the error of my ways....

However, after gaining 7 lbs in two weeks, I realized that I CAN'T eat whatever I want, even if I exercise 2 -7 hours a day (can you believe it?)

Well, I've promised myself not to cheat until this challenge is over, soooo, I've got until the end of October. By then, it should be second nature.

Induction Works!!! down 2 pounds from yesterday. Went for another long walk today, and kept my carbs and calories down today. We're going to Cuba in January - i am really keen on losing as much as possible. I did 20 minutes of pilates at 11:30 last night too... wondered if that helped...

Day 23 of 50
Start: 219 Current: 213 Goal: 199 Total Loss: 6/20

Krystyne - I live at Queen and Crawford, which is just west of Bathurst. Moved here from Vancouver six years ago and love it. The Beaches are a great area too - I haven't taken advantage of the actual beach area there, but I'm hoping to spend some time there now that I'm on maternity leave for another few months. I've been walking along the Lakeshore lately - makes for a great walk!

Susan - welcome!!! You did a great job on Induction! Keep it up, and you most definitely should be able to lose another six pounds in four weeks. Stay focussed on your goal and perhaps come up with a reward for meeting it? My reward is... I'm buying myself new running shoes if I meet my goal. I have 14 pounds to go, but I've also got a lot to lose, so if I stick to the program without cheating, this is possible. I've found that, based on what others have posted over these forums, that once Induction is done, people start adding things to their diet, like more nuts or peanut butter, or they eat too much cheese, and these things stall you. Stick with us and we'll help each other stay on track! I'll need it too - I'm sure I'll plateau soon... :(

Slatelee - Congrats on another great loss! Are you on Induction? are you tracking your carbs? how many are you trying to stay around?

Maxibee - probably a bad combo of not enough water plus the carbs retaining what your body still had in it... a couple days on Induction and you'll probably lose that, plus some. Try the Egg Fast for a couple days - many use this to start the whoosh.

Amy G - congrats on the loss! I can't wait to see the 190s... Haven't been in the 190s since last March.

Well done everyone!!!

Niki

Wow! down another pound today... very exciting, having a good week.... EXCEPT!, hubbie came home with KFC tonight. Stuck to chicken, gravy and coleslaw, no fries, but my carbs today were 66g total. Plus, I think the gravy is going to make me retain water, so I washed my kitchen floor, took out the garbage, did a load of laundry and then did 40 minutes on the exercise bike afterwards - a guilt workout. And, I think I'll skip the scale tomorrow and just drink a gallon of water and hope that I hold onto this weight loss for Thursday...

Day 24 of 50
Start: 219 Current: 212 Goal: 199 Total Loss: 7/20

I like having to check in every day, makes me feel sort of accountable...

Hope everyone else is doing good.

Later... Niki

Oh Happy Day!!!! The mini whoosh fairy finally came! I got on the scale yesterday and it had gone down. I couldn't believe my eyes! Down to 160! Two days in a row. All that exercise has finally paid off!

My stats now stand: 179/160/157
I may just meet the challenge! AND my overall goal of getting down to 152!

Hi Niki,

I redid induction last week and actually averaged about 25 carbs a day. Am trying to stick to 25-30 range this week. Last week was mostly fluid, but I am glad to get rid of it whatever the reason!

I am still at 279 and will be out of town for a bit, but will update when I get back.

I am down two--I know it is mostly fluid as I was on the viral diet yesterday! This after my weekend excursion back down the carb path--so I am now

165 with a goal of 161 for halloween! I just might make that one! If I make that one I should also make the Thanksgiving one too! I am hoping to beright at or just under 150 for christmas! My goal anyway!!!!!

Only 2 more pounds and I'll be back at my sig. weight. Man, this is tough! My stomach is still unhappy about those muffins. I'm hoping to be back at square one (sig. weight) by Friday. And I'm bound and determined to lose at least one pound over the weekend. Both DH and DD will be gone their separate ways and I'll be alone with the pets. I think it may be time for "Beauty Night" again......bubblebath, salt scrub, manicure, pedicure, facial mask.....AFTER a good workout on my Gazelle. We'll see-I'm not giving up, I'm just aggravated!
