I guess I will officially change my goal to lose another three pounds by Hallowee. If I don't make it due to TOM I'll be cranky but at least I will have reached my first one. I think even with TOM next weekend I should be OK. So my new goal will be 362 for Halloween. That would be 14.5 down from the start of this challenge. I may actually make it to my Thanksgiving goal.

Noel, I just looked at the notebook I post my weight in.....I keep track of TOM, too. Guess what? TOM's due on my last day of Induction! If I gain 3 or 4 pounds, that will take away from what I lost on induction! Darn! Sometimes I don't gain much, I even lost a pound one month....I guess we'll have to wait and see.

You don't have to change your goal unless you just want to....you just seemed to be doing so well I thought I'd suggest that. I know you'll make it! Unless I have a big gain between now and then, I think I can shake 2 more pounds between now and Halloween. I changed my signature weight to 224....if I see 223 again, I will change it to that. I'm a little paranoid of 2 pound losses!

It is with great sadness I post my stats this week. I am up 2 lbs. :crying: I had no binges, major or minor, just a couple of days eating too many protein bars, and 2 days with no exercise due to being sick. Although I lost another 1/2 inch in my thighs, my waist and hips went up a bit. I hope it's just the bloat from TOM.
I am trying hard to keep a strong mental mindset, but I am definitely a bit discouraged today. I had waited 3 weeks for the scale to go down from 163 to 160.
My increased stats are: 179/162/157

No despairing allowed here . Think positive. Even if you weren't watching your carb intake, weight can normally flucuate 1 to 2 pounds each day. At least, that is what I keep telling myself.

One day left of the weekend and then we are back to normal routines. Stay happy and focused!

It's time once again for posting stats! I've been on Induction for the last 8 days (this is day 9 for me) and I've lost 5 pounds. Not as good as some, but I'm encouraged, nonetheless.

I only got a few updates this week, including one new revised goal weight! And I actually think I may make MY goal in this challenge. I've never met a challenge goal before, and this is the challenge I'm hostessing, so I really want to make it!

If your name has a N/U next to it, it's because I got No Update on your stats.

Wow, everyone is doing great! Keep it up!

Last week wasn't very good for me, so I started induction again. Down today to 209.5, which is wonderful. Keeping between 15 - 25 g carbs, and exercising. Last night I went for a run for 1/2 hour, it felt amazing! First time in probably close to a year, since before I was pregnant. Had to go really slow, but it was awesome. Can't wait to do it again.

So, I have 10.5 pounds to go in 2 weeks. Hopefully with induction and exercise, I'll make it!

Maxibee - great to see your numbers slide! Thanks for being so great at keeping our stats up and motivating everyone. I have a suggestion: if there are people on the list that haven't checked in for more than 3 weeks, maybe you should just drop them off the list?

Anywhooo, will touch base soon.

Again - does anyone have Halloween candy strategies? Atkins should make little bars for the kids for Halloween. My strategy is that i'm going to buy my candy the day of Halloween, and no bags will be opened until its time to serve it.

Have a great week! My DD and I are off to speed walk through the park.

Niki

I bought trinkets and halloween toys and a bag of candy I don't particularly like--That usually keeps me from downing the whole bag. . .like we did witht he reeces DD had to have. I will give out bats, skeletons, pumpkins and the like and a piece of candy with each toy--

I got candy just in case. I am going to a friends for most of the day but I thought "what if I get home and someone shows up". I bought a bag at k-mart when I was there because it was cheap. Of course it's snickers which I love but I have been able to resist and the next day I will bring them to work for the mailman. (We have a candy jar just for him.) Last year I got no one (I live in a condo) and I ate so much candy it was SCARY!

DH volunteered to take DD out trick-or-treating and I'm trying to figure out how to "not be home". LOL! I do not want to buy candy or treats, I do not want to run to the door every few minutes, and my dog goes ape-s#&t EVERY time the doorbell is rung. She is most adorable in her Halloween scarf I make her wear, though!

Yes, I'm the Scrooge of Halloween! I also discourage the constant chanting of "Santa this and Santa that" at Christmas. DD has always known that he's not real and I'm trying to get the inlaws to quit the whole charade. She loves to pretend, though. Oh, well, at least she won't hate me for lying to her about it, like I did my parents when they 'fessed up to me! LOL! I know I'm weird....I'm okay with that!

Anyway, I thought about possibly dropping some challenge participants that haven't checked in lately....but I decided instead to PM some of them and encourage them to return if they want to.

I'm at 224 again with TOM breathing down my neck.....I may do Induction for an extra week, not sure right now. Everyone keep up the good work! We have 11 days until our weigh-in and I think we'll have several that will make their goals.....could one of them be me?????

Maxi, I've been debating over the whole Santa thing as well with what I should tell my son. I didn't distrust or feel betrayed by my parents when I found out the truth but you never know. I always figured I'd tell my kids the story of father Christmas and that other kids belive and not to spoil their fantasies about it but who knows what I'll actually do.

TOM is coming quickly enough for me as well, I hope it doesn't spoil my second goal. I don't think it will, the last didn't hurt me too much.

I honestly want to be 360 for Halloween so that I can reach my Thanksgiving goal easier but that's a dream. I started really getting into the program and exercising too late into that challenge or I could have done it.

Good luck to everyone here.

Noel, it's one of those "calls" you have to make. My decision is unpopular, but I don't care. I've never lied to my daughter, except for once: when she was 4, she asked me how the baby gets out of it's Mom's tummy when it's born. I told her through the belly button....which, in a Caesarian section is almost true! I didn't have the heart to tell my 4 yr. old the gorey truth right then, I was afraid it would scare her....she's female, after all! But, I let her watch the Discovery Health channel with me and they show births all the time, so maybe she's figured it out.

I'm a little uncomfortable with trick-or-treating, too. But, what we do is for fun, and not in celebration of a pagan holiday. I don't do the Easter Bunny thing, either. I let her have candy, and I also try to keep the focus on the religious meanings behind these holidays. I did tell her about Saint Nicholas of ancient times and how this whole Santa thing got started. I also told her it was okay to pretend that Santa's real, as long as she knows the truth, especially since I don't want her telling any other children anything different! I had a parent of an 11 year old boy complain to our pastor once because I casually mentioned something about "pretend Santa" in Sunday School. He laughed about it in cl**** then went home and cried to Mommy and Daddy and asked them if they's been lying all that time. Good grief! I apologized to the parents, but they were bad miffed about that for a long time. I just thought by 11, you would know better. I don't know. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Thank God we live in America, where we are all free to make our own choices!

I tell my child the truth no matter how hard it is. I want her to grow up loving me and knowing that no matter WHO hurts her by lying/deceiving her.....her Mother NEVER lied to her about ANYTHING. (My parents lied all the time.) I even told her why her NaNan and Pa Pa (my used-to-be parents) don't talk to me anymore and how they hate her father. She is sad and hurt by that, but it's true and I refuse to keep up any charade for them to protect her from the ugly truth. It is what it is. JMHO
