My bad weekend has spilled over into the week. I'd better get this under control or no more big weight drops for me. I didn't go over my daily expended calories but I need to stay under them a whole lot more for the best results. I did manage to keep the carbs under control. I shouldn't have had that omlette for dinner.

1991 calories and 34 carbs.

I'm doing better this week - have managed to get the carbs under control so far.

Fought off the giant urge for McDonald's and a snicker's bar today - here's to willpower :jump:

1,574 calories, 75 grams of fat, 31 carbs and 83 grams of protein.

Go figure, I try to be better and I end up good on carbs and perfect on calories. I had some GOOD food today. And I helped make up for a not so great weekend.

I had 1471 calories and 40carbs.

Now I just need to keep it up all week. I guess I can do it.

I am soooo frustrated with myself. I keep continuing the same vicious cycle with my life. I get totally motivated and for about a week I am on plan and feeling good. Then S*** happens and I just go right off the deep end. I have been doing this for the last year. I keep telling myself to stop but I just can't. I need to come clean to all of you. I feel like such a big failure. I started this challenge and I can't even stick with it. I continually keep going off course. So sorry everyone. I just can't seem to get it together with my eating habits.

Don't beat yourself up Glory, we all have bad times now and again. Just try as best you can to get back on track. I know once you've slipped it's really hard and I have usually given up in the past. A fresh start is what you need. Good luck finding your way back and sticking to it.

And don't be embarassed about posting shortcomings. They only make you look human not foolish. And I think it helps to work things out when everyone is there to support you.

Glo:

I agree with Noel - you can't beat yourself up. This is a great place to regroup and try again. And she's right, we all have days (or weeks) :eyes: that we can't get it together. It only becomes a problem when you stay there, and don't make another effort.

Rob: thanks for the toast!

I did pretty well today - over 2,000 calories, but less than 50 carbs, which is about right for me.

hi there-can anyone join this challenge? I originally started the aikens on 9/27/04 and guess thats the plan I'm doing with the exception of the real strict induction. I found that I need to count carbs and calories-not just carbs. I downloaded fitday on 10/10/04 and have kept track of everything and have lost 5 lbs since then. I love the PC version of this fitday especially with dial up. i go to curves 3 times a week and keep my calories to 1700, however, most days its around 1300-my carbs between 20-30 net. so I'm using my official start date of 10/10/04-it took me two weeks of procrastinating to get myself started. I've tried a challenge with my girlfriend but that doesn't work-she is too critical if you have a bad day or weekend.
Let me know! Thanks
also, can anyone advise on a good vitamin? i started atkins basic 3 two days ago and had major problems yesterday-from one extreme to the other. Little leary abotu taking it now. What about that weightsmart? my digestive system is very sensitive with vitamins.

Sure - Welcome Tina!

Glory - Just keep trying. If you stop trying, boy can it get worse. Don;t beat yourself up just hop back on teh LC wagon. See there it is going by right now!

You're welcome Tina!

Still making up for Sunday's football party. And am doing well. Average calories for the past 3 days - 1880. and carbs averaged 33. Not just averaged but exactly 33 all 3 days. I'm going to continue keeping carbs calories low until i can average in Sunday and reach 2000 calories and 50 carbs. Avtuallu I just calculated my carb average for the past 4 days (including Sunday) and it's 43.5. So I can up my carbs starting today.

I am trying to catch it Rob. Last night DD and I exercised. That is a step in the right direction! Still trying to get rid of the carb/calorie demon. I didn't track yesterday but I did better than I have for the last few days. I am trying. Thanks for all your support. That helps get me to where I need to be.

Welcome Tina, I was taking my prenatal vitamins that I had left over from nursing for a while but I decided to switch to One a Day Carb Smart. I went through the Atkins recommendations and it's not perfect but it is high in many of the recommended doses. I also have a sensitive stomach. I haven't had any problems with this one so far but sonetimes it takes a while to irritate it so I am hoping it works. I try and take it with breakfast. So many vitamins are fat soluable and it's better to take them on a full stomach when your stomach is sensitive.

I too found that after I became accountable for calories as well I feel better and have been losing at a better pace.

Thank you Cushie. I am going to attempt my weight smart vitamins tomorrow and see how they settle or maybe the next day. giving my body time to recover. I've had my challenges with food today but am
I am very proud of myself-it was a co-workers birthday today-we always celebrate with cake etc. They had a fruit torte and a regular cake-I sang happy birthday and walked out of the kitchen before they cut the cake adn never looked back. Been awhile since I've done that. Tonight I get home and DH had bought KFC dinners so I wouldn't have to cook. Since I didn't want to hurt his feelings as it is rare he does that, I took all of the white meat out of the breast w/o the coating and ate only 1/2 cup of cole slaw. It was full of sugar-tasted terrible but I ate some anyway. I stayed away from the potatoes and gravy and biscuits. It was a big step as I would normally gorge myself on that stuff. Then I looked up the nutrition value adn entered into fitday. surprisingly, I am fine on my counts!! So i'm feeling pretty good about myself and how I handled my challenges.

I take Centrun carb assist plus a dozen other supplements. I think at least an additional 500 mgs vitamin c and 400 of E are important. Also assess your calcium intake with fitday and decide if you need a calcium supplement. Not only will taking them on a full stomach decrease the chance of irritation but they will be absorbed much much better.

Today would have gone better if I'd gone to bed at 9:00. But I didn't do badly with 2035 calories and 44 carbs. The chunk of fresh coconut I had just now tipped my calories over 2000. Good for you Tina! That took willpower!
