I have a coupon for Centrum. I got 67% of my calcium through my diet, or at least that's what my average was over the last month. I am lacking in vitamin D though. I have never looked at that before. Thanks for pointing it out Rob.

Today was ok. 1784 calories and 39 carbs.

One bad girl thing, low carb ice cream bar. I've passed them too many times at the grocers. Today I could no longer resist. I ate one but I'll abstain for a while now. They are good at first then...not so great. But good news today they had a new big display of Mission low carb torillas. (I had been looking for them forever.)

Thanks Rob-I haven't paid that much attention to that but you're right, my calcium, E & C are way low. I will have to take care of that. thanks for the input.

Cushie-thats not bad-you could've done worse. I keep a box of 0 carb pops in the freezer so when I'm feeling deprived, i grab one of those. They're not the best I ever had but they take care of the problem. I'm not to the point of adding tortillas etc in my diet yet-I have some in the freezer-its like I'm almost afraid when it comes time to move on.

Another pound today-feels good but know it has to slow down-don't want to stay at 3lbs loss per week-too fast. I would rather see the inches go-Back to the gym today.

Have a good one!

I got the tortillas from a specialty store Tuesday to make the LC pizza. It was sooooo good. I actually had it again tonight. But I will definitely be making breakfast burritos with them some time. I may make a few and freeze them for a quick breakfast. I need to make some pico de gallo. I don't think cilantro would be too high in carbs. I hope not at least.

I forgot about the almonds!

1789 calories today and 41 carbs.

1,577 calories today and 27 carbs.

I had a fitness analysis today, which indicated that my body fat percentage is around 30%, which means I need to lose at least 8% more before I reach a reasonable range.

Definitely losing inches :jump:

Gotta keep on the path...

Noel - That's what I like about the ice cream bars. You don't really want more than one. As opposed to the half gallon buttter pecan ice ceam that's gone in 3 days. Cilantro I consider a free food. You can eat 4 cups and only count 1 carb.

Tina - One tip is to enter your vitamins as custom food items. It takes some time and there isn't a place for every nutrient but that will give you a better picture of your Vitamin intake.

Febe - You seem to be doing good when you're psoting here. When you say days off do you mean when you're shoveling rocks? LOL

Tina B - That's not too far off - 24% from 30.

Okay I consider my attempt to average calories to make up for Sunday officially over. Today I had 1675 calories and 20 net carbs which brought my 6 day average including sunday to 2100. That's close enough, why get obsessive about it. Don't ask me how I ended up at 20 net carbs. It was a perfect day of induction style eating which I never planned to do. But hey, why not once in a while.

Friday was 1640 cal/19 net carbs-1/2 lb less. did my gym day. Note to the net carbs-does not include my coffee-to be honest-dont' even know how many cups a day I drink at work-100oz. water. Just don't want to give up that coffee but know after 3 weeks I am drinking less.

Ok Rob, I entered my vitamins as a custom food-your comment takes some extra time?? Ha HA-could they make that print any smaller!!! My kid wasn't here to read them to me-took long time!! Read some sites on vitamins-worried now that I bought extra of C, E & Calcium, I'm taking too much of these! help??

Everybody have a good weekend-see if we can all get through it w/o overindulging.

Oh, one other question, is sleep ever goign to become part of my regime again on this diet? since doing it, sleep about 5 hrs-4AM awakenings are getting old no matter what time I go to bed whether it be 9PM or 11PM. But definately don't feel bad

Tina - You cannot get too much vitamin C. Any that your body doesn't use is quickly expelled through the urine. The rda of 60 is just the amount to ward off vitamin C deficiency diseases liek scurvy.

Same with E. I've seen recommendations of 400 to 800 mgs a day while the rda is 10. So don't worry there either.

As far as calcium - that;s the only one you might worry about getting too much of. My Rda for calciumis 1200 and I consistently get that or a little more. I generally take the calcium supplement separate from the others and at the end of the day after consulting fitday to see if I need more. Calcium and magnesium taken at bedtime can aid in sleep. But like you I rarely get more than 5 hours a night and wake up in the wee hours. As long as I feel good I don;t worry about it. And about every three days I find I need a nap.

thanks so much for your wisdom, Rob.

By my menu today without extra calcium, it says 724mg. I think I'll have this conversation with my doc when I go for my physical in november. I thought extra would help due to arthritis in my back plus a couple of bad dics but will wait for her input.

I'm making a big pot of vegetable soup today but with stew beef. I've been dying for a nice hot bowl of soup-weather is cold here-30's this morning. Put all my ingredients into fitday adn works out to 6 net grams.

Have a good one

Daily Calcium Requirement For Women

(According to the National Academy of Sciences, Food and Nutrition Board, 1997)
Age Satisfactory Daily Intake
0-6 months 210 mg
6-12 months 270 mg
1-3 years 500 mg
4-8 years 800 mg
9-18 years 1,300 mg
19-50 years 1,000 mg
51+ years 1,200 mg
50+ years and not on HRT 1,500 mg

Please Note: Menopause is a life stage change which accelerates bone loss. For this reason peri-menopausal women should watch their calcium intake closely. Post-menopausal women NOT on hormone replacement therapy may want to increase their calcium intake as well.

I googled the above information and found the link to a page that may help.

Made it through the week with 50 carbs or less a day, which for me, is a very good sign.

1,787 calories, 99 g of fat, 46 carbs and 81 grams of fat.

6 hours of exercise today; however, it doesn't seem to affect the amount of carbs that I can consume - I can eat 10-15 more than 40 a day, but more than that, and I'm going backwards.

I was so hungry today. I think TOM is just around the corner. But I was able to control the hunger. Or maybe it was too many LC tortillas this week. But I wasn't craving sweet, just hungry. Drank a lot of water then. Changed what I had planned for dinner to be lower calories so I could have more of it.

1728 calories and 38 carbs.

I've been hoovering around 1700 and 35-40 for a while now. I'm doing OK there.

Got a little high on the calories today, that's gotten to be a weekend thing. But I did not go over 2000 so that's good. I was just under actually. A little high on carbs but I'll be back on track tomorow.

1983 calories, 43 carbs.
