Not alot of activity here the last 2 days, just been too tired. I think I have been thinkin' too hard about the "stuff" that is going on in my life, and the un-accustomed activity caused mental exhaustion, lol.
Back to normal tomorrow.
Dh and I are going out with some friends tonight, so that should recharge my batteries for the week-end. *grin*

If that doesn't work, I'll try sleepin' in.....

Rob, Ouch!!!!

Barb, glad to hear that you had a good time.

Cushie Those tapes are killer! Glad you're posting again!
Later, Taters!

I did the tape again. This time got a couple more sections done for a little more than 18 mintues. My legs were doing much better tonight. Got my heart rate up to optimal and it felt good.

Barb - Yes the damned Nikes did it. The nail needed clipping a bit and the nikes were pulling up on the nail while I walked. But they are so over cushioned that I didn't feel as much pain as I should have until I removed the ******* shoes. Why didn't I stick to my Reeboks I usually buy?

Cynthia - Did you see a movie"? Which one?

Noel - Making progress!

My toenail is so sensitive that I can't even wear a band aid on it. Feels okay as long as I'm barefoot. But even slippers cause severe pain. So definitely no walking today.

Oh Rob how awful. I can't imagine a shoe taking someone's nail off. Is it warm enough there to walk in some flipflops? You probably can't walk as far in a pair of those, but you could do small doses..................maybe?

Barb - Unfortunately it's the nail right next to the big toe. Flip flops would put pressure on this toe. Ah well maybe it will feel considerably better once it starts to heal.

Holy smokes, Rob! That sucks. I only lost a toenail once, going down a slide into a swimming pool - I started feeling chicken on the way down and was trying to use my feet as "brakes" against the sides of the slide when my little toenail caught on something. It stayed. I continued. That REALLY hurts! (Toenail was never the same after that, either.) I hope you feel better every day.

I'm still "curving" every work day. It's amazing what a great mind-wiper it is for me. I'm not into the chatty stuff. I concentrate really hard on my form and muscle isolation on the machines and on the recovery stations, I just ... well, recover with some minimal movement to the so-called music. By the time I'm done stretching it's like I've built a barricade between the day I've just finished and the evening ahead. Even when I have "homework" it's like a new task instead of an endless continuation of a bad day.

Rob, I am so use to your inspiring walks, feel better soon. Curves sounds great, Maggie and Barb, if I had evening childcare I would consider it but as it is I am getting better about my aerobics.

Tonight I made it through the third aerobic section and was starting the third toning when DS bumped his head and called out for immediate attention. I did get in 22 minutes though. DS is really pretty good with me hopping around the living room.

Noel, it would be nice if Curves provided child care, but mine here does not. BUT, you're doing good anyway and keep up the good work!!!!!!

Rob, Dh and I took dd with us, so we wound up seeing a "kid-flick". We watched Shark-Tales. Definately for the under 13 crowd.
We saw 'The Forgotten' last week, it was great! I rated it as a "5 Jump" movie, lol!

Maggie - That sounds hideous. This i only the second toenail I've lost. The other one I pulled out with vice grips. Glad your Curves visits are giving you such inner peace. That's what I'm missing by not walking.

Barb - Did you get to Curves?

Noel - Thanks! You're doing very well increasing your stamina for this aerobics workout.

Cynthia - I guess you gotta have one for the kids every so often. unfortunately it's not like when I was a kid and my parents could drop us off at the 5 hour saturday matinee (2 movies, a couple of shorts, many cartoons) and pick us up when it was done.

My toe felt better yesterday afternoon so of course I did the worst thing I could possibly do. I put on shoes and socks and went shopping. It wasn';t too bad until I got home and took them off. My toe throbbed the rest of the night. Woke up at 3:00 a.m. to a deaf cat doing her impression of a pigeon in heat. LOL

... and I bet you haven't been back to sleep yet, right? The older I get, the less likely it is that I'll get back to sleep when I wake up at that time, regardless of the reason. The toe thing was eons ago, when I was about 12 yrs old. It was a topic of interest among my friends for a long time. Since it looked so gross for a while, everyone making bets on whether the rest of my toe (or perhaps a portion of my foot) would fall off, whether my nail would ever grow back, etc.

I'm sorry you're not able to get your walking in for a while. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Good work on the tapes, Noel! You're doing this in a sensible way - a bit at a time.

Barb, I can relate. I've still got to kick my own butt all the way to curves at the end of the day. It's not my nature to want to do ANYTHING after work but go home. I'm just learning that it makes such a difference in how I feel and that helps me overcome my natural resistance to activity. LOL!

No MAggie - There's rarely any more sleep after I wake up. 5 hours seems to be about as much as I can get in a row.

I've been meaning to ask where's Tara? It's been such a long tme since I've seen a post from her. On this thread or any other.

OH Cyn, I have been wanting to go see that movie! We've been busy here decorating for our 3rd annual Halloween Party and haven't gotten to the theater lately.

Rob, yes I did get to Curves on Fri. and yacked my head off the whole time to the gal that works there, it seemed like a mere 10 mins. LOL at your description of the cat noises. I sometimes wake up to racoons fighting over my garbage and it sounds like cats and racoons tussling some nights...............very annoying. And once in awhile the cats will sound like a baby crying, very eerie.

Maggie, same here, if I wake up past about 4:30am I'm up the rest of the day.

MK I LOVE your new avatar!!!!! Boy you look LOADS slimmer in the face!!!!!!!!!!
