Barb - Good job on going to Curves. Chocolate is bad for dogs. There's a chemical in chocolate that dogs can't digest so it is stored in their liver and over time can cause severe problems.

Karen - Welcome! You have to do what you can when you're recuperating!

Noel - Good Job!

Yesterday my toe was so much improved that I decided to try a full walk with only a band-aid on my toe. Worked! I did 4 miles at the lake and since it was raining (I went during a lull), and the lake path was muddy, I had the whole place to myself. But my time is way off. The toe does slow me down.

Mk sounds like you are slowly getting back to normal. I trust your root canal is doing better and hope your ankle is MUCH better.

I woke up this morning with a killer sore throat. I haven't had a cold in 2 & 1/2 years!!!!! I'm so I caught this. I haven't called in sick once yet this year!!! I am doing loads of echinacea. It always seems to kick it out of my system pretty fast. This will be the first time I've come down with something since LCIng, so we'll see if my immune system is SUPER sized now. I ran to the store on the way home from work today and picked up 10 cans of Progresso's new Carb Monitor soups. I bought the Chicken/Veg, Tuscan Meatball and Chicken Enchilada flavors. They were 10 for $10. I bought 10. I made 2 cans of the Chicken enchilada for DH and I for lunch today. I'm starving and need some comfort food, so this will fit the bill. I'm gonna have at least 2 servings with a piece of LC bread and butter. Gonna make chicken/egg drop soup for dinner tonight too. Good thing DH loves soup!!!!!

Hehe, I'm here editing my post. I've changed my mind..........not gonna make soup tonight. I'm just gonna open another can of Progresso CM, Tuscan Meatball. These soups are about 6 g of carbs per serving.

Rob, glad your toe is much improved.

Horrors. I'm being a tater tonight for the first time in a over a week. I am going to do some crunches and stretching but no aerobics. I'm taking a break for the night. I'll get back on track tomorrow. So I guess I didn't make every night tater-free.

Now if I skip tomorrow I'll deserve to be flogged. :o

Mary Kay - Water aerobics is great exercise. The Vegas trip sounds great. You'll have a fantastic time!

Barb - I know what you mean. I hadn't been sick in years either and it was a bummer when I caught a cold last month. But I was better in a week and 90% better in 5 days. I chalk that up to this woe.

Noel - A day off a week is pretty good in my book.

The rain let up yesterday so I went to the lake. Much more crowded (passed 6 walkers and 2 bicyclists). I walked 5 miles at almost my old pace. My miles were something like 15 mins and 45 seconds. So things are getting back to normal. But I still cannot wear those New Nikes.

Did make it to water aerobics last night. (didn't make it to workout this morning - just felt too good in bed. Think I'll try tomorrow morning.
was kinda shaky after the WA - but I did get a full allergy testing yesterday, and a flu shot (yeah, I get it cause of the asthma)

scale is down this morning (yeah!), so the re-induction seems to be working pretty good. Would be nice to hit the 50lb mark by the time I leave for Vegas. Just nice to say "I lost 50 lbs". only need 2-1/2 more for that. Just added incentive to eat clean, and work out.

Hey taters...

Nothing significant to report besides the sightseeing and work-related exercise. Rob...the incline is....how do I explain it? Kinda like a trolley car, only it is pulled up and down this unbelievably steep hillside by a massive cable. When you get to the top at Mt. Washington, the views of the city are amazing. Yep, Barb, Pittsburgh is much smaller than Chi-town, but I think it's a pretty city. Come on over, I'll show ya around!
Rainy and yucky here. Gonna go help BF move ex's stuff out of his place :great:
Hey, wait. That's exercise! (Gotta claim what I can)

Rob-Pretty good pace on those miles, especially for having a bad toe. You should take those Nikes back and show them your toe and say look what they did and demand some Reboks instead. Or was it some other shoe?

When the baby starts swim lessons I'd like to do water aerobics. Sometimes they have them at the same time.

I got a tai chi tape from my mom I might try this weekend to relax and destress. But tonight I'll stick to the basics.

Default Where I've been ...

I'm here and there! "There" being at Low Carb Living!

Andrea has asked me to help out at a new forum associated with Low Carb Living (the magazine) and I've finally showed up there publicly to work with our fellow member, Tanya (the moderator), on the alternative site.

Please feel free to stop by there, from time to time, and add your wonderful knowledge and support! Rules: No links to here! But it's ok to cut and paste content of yours from LCE to the LCL forum.

My brief intro can be found here here.

Hope to see you there, from time to time!

Maggie~I just started getting the magazine but haven't been on the site much. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the link.

I did get the aerobics in early tonight. I was thinking about how much I didn't want to do them and did them right at that moment so I couldn't talk myself out of it. I was glad I got done early so now I can actually get to sleep at a reasonable time.

Mary kay - I'll keep my fingers crossed for your 50 pound goal!

Tara - I think I've seen the incline on Tv or maybe read about it? Heck yes, moving stuff counts! Watch me count it in a few weeks when my sister moves and I have to help.

Noel - I should have taken them back as soon as I lost the nail but now is probably too late. Water aerobics sounds like a good idea!

Maggie - I'm there (and here) right now too. I do occasionally visit but haven't posted there very much.

Walked 4 miles yesterday but probably won't walk much today. I'm house sitting for teh weekend at my usual place. So "I hate Rob's knees" hill will be my only exercise today. Luckily It's secluded enough by the creek that the dogs can be let off their leashes. Why is it that the dog on the leash in your right hand wants to be on your left side and Vice versa?

HELP!!! I'm rationalizing NOT doing the morning workouts next week. the TATER inclination has taken over. I mean, I'm leaving on a trip in a week, so I'll just have to stop then anyhow.....

KICK MY BUTT - make me feel guilty. But I have to get to Ballys Monday morning!!!!!
This weekend will be moving furniture and stuff (I hope). they are coming to install 2 rooms of carpet (1 on 11/1, 1 on 11/8) and we still have to get the refrigerator back into the kitchen. DH seems to have gone into a coma about helping with anything lately.

Maggie, NICE intro!!!! That about sums it up!!! I'll have to stop by. I get their online stuff, but have never signed up for the forums. I'll give it a look/see.

Noel, I think you earned a break, but don't let it take over.

Rob, good luck with the "I hate Rob's knees" hill. And yes..........dogs seems to figure the hand/leash thing out quite well!!! LOLOL

Tara, that would be so cool to meet up with you if I ever come to PA!!!!! Heck, it would be nice to meet up with ANY of yous guys if I ever get to any of your necks of the woods. How fun would that be?

MK, how the heck ya gonna reach the 50lb loss goal if you don't get active? Sending a swift butt kick to Ohio!!!!!

I'm a true Tater right now with this cold. I feel like total doggie doo doo. I'm giving myself permission to be a tater. Sleep is pretty much all I want to do, so sleep I will, whenever the urge strikes. Afterall, we do a lot of healing while sleeping. (convincing myself to take a nap.)

Ah, Mary Kay. I can SO relate. We have pretty much identical couch fauxtato souls, complete with superb rationalization and procrastination abilities.

I have to kick my own butt to curves almost every time and the only way I can do it is to not take any bs excuses (of which I have an unlimited supply) from myself. I have to CONSTANTLY remind myself that the reason I feel generally different these days is because of my consistency in going to curves. No one session is a big deal in and of itself, but the cumulative effect is tangible. I can't have the overall effect unless I do it on a regular basis.

'Course, you know the reality skipping a week of Bally's because you're going to have to skip the following week for vacation, just buys you TWO missed weeks instead of one.

Use this week to at least partially get yourself back into your groove after your foot induced hiatus. I suspect it will be easier to get back on track when you return from vacation if you do that.

However you finally work it out, we'll be here to kick your but when you get back from Vegas in any case.
