I guess I should be glad I got to sleep in until 5:30. Of course that's too early for me. I sat all day telling myself that was a good excuse not to do my exercise. Then I was trying to convince myself that I didn't feel well. But by the time I got home I was neither too tired nor too ill to do the WATP for the 2 mile-30 minutes. DS was good throughout. Didn't try and climb me as he sometimes does.

One more day and I get my Thursday off to veg in front of my shows.

Maggie - I definitely can sympathize with those 3:00 a.m. wake ups.

Noel - Glad you're doing the Watp despite the couch fauxtato mentality we all share in this thread.

I had some intestinal issues yesterday (For the details you really don't want to hear see my journal). So instead of the lake where I would be miles from indoor plumbing I elected to walk at Reynolda village where i could do a 20 minute loop. Only 2 1/2 miles though. That was enough.

Greetings from Vegas - last full day.
I know I'm getting a lot of walking in - my feet are really killing me.
Behaving, well, pretty much. Know I don't want to get on the scale.

trip will be quite successful for the business. Can you say 'FEAR OF SUCCESS' ? I may actually have to start finding help!

Hey, Mary Kay!

Employees! Woo-hoo! You know you're on your way when you take on that hassle. LOL!

Noel, I know just what you mean about that part of the couch fauxtato soul that can come up with all kinds of reasons to "skip a day." Good for you to plan a day that's SUPPOSED to be a day off. I do that, too. For me it's Sat. & Sun. It helps me get to curves on week days, knowing that I have my weekend coming up.

Rob, sorry about the misery in your middle! You are a definite walk-a-holic to find a way to get your walk in under the circumstances.

Barb, we definitely expect many great pictures of your yearly bash!

I curved again today and, against all odds, both knees were behaving properly.

MK, hopefully all that walking is helping any "misadventures" to not affect you too much. Whatever happens in Vegas...well, it shows up on the scale when you get home, huh? I hope you had a good time, along with expanding your business.

Sorry about the tummy troubles Rob, oh what a pain they can be.

I finally brought up the light hand weights up from the car so I used them during the toning part of my aerobics tonight. I only did 15 minutes of that but then did the 1 mile section of WATP which was another 15 mintues.

Barb - yes definitely pictures. In my old age I'm finding I'm starting to enjoy Halloween again. Not that I dress up or even stay home (can't be truted with candy in the house).

Mary Kay - Glad you're having both a good time and finding success!

Maggie - hmm - maybe I need a planned day off too. I'm thinking Sunday since I like to go to the farmers market that day. Nah I have to pass right by the lake and the demon who possesses me will stop and walk.

Noel - Good going on adding in the hand weights. That should increase your benefits from doing the tape quite a lot.

It was a dark and stormy day yesterday. Miserable. I drove all the way to Tanglewood when there was a lull in the rain and just as I was nearing it the rain started again. So I drove to the mall and did 2 1/2 miles. But this will not be possible in a few weeks. So as I was passing Suncoast video I stopped in and bought the WATP Dvd that Noel told me about. I watched it last night to get an idea and it is quite intense. Though I don't see how they do 4 miles in 56 minutes when there's a 5 minute warm up and a 5 minute cool down. But there's a lot more than walking involved in Leslie Sansone's workout. Do I get any caloric burn watching the tape? How about if I watched most of it in fast forward?

LOL, Rob, "how bout if I watch it in fast forward?" That's the ticket!!!!

Maggie, I'm tired just reading your post.

Sounds like you all are doing great!!!

I have to fit Curves in this afternoon. I hope I can get there. This is a hectic week. I will try to post pics after the party. I tend to forget to take pics, 'cuz I'm having such a good time. I'll have to do it early before I start on the rum and diet cokes.
Tomorrow, I will be cooking all day in prep for the party.

Hand your camera to the shyest person at the party and tell them to memorialize it. They'll usually do a great job and it gives them something to do while they're feeling awkward. It will help them start conversations with people ... "Excuse me, would you shake that brain while I get a photo?" Like that there.

Sound like I've done this before?

Oh, yes. At the risk of being completely boring, I went to curves again today.

Confessions - I have struggled with exercising twice daily. About 1/3 days no exercise, 1/3 days one time and 1/3 days 2 times. Well, November has room for improvement. Onward ho.

It's my off day but I did do one thing. Swept up leaves for about ten minutes. Boy they're dropping so fast now. My beautiful privacy trees are turning to big twigs. :(

Barb - I think you'll be burning up plenty of calories getting ready for thsi party even if you don't manage to get to Curves.

MAggie - I've been that camera person many a time. I hate getting my picture taken so what better way to avoid it than to have control of the camera. Hey there's nothing boring about getting fit!

KAren - So that averages out to once a day. What's wrong with that?

Noel - That's what I hate about fall. Raking or in my case sweeping (condo dweller) up those damned leaves. It's either sweep them off the walkways or off the floors when you drag them in the house stuck to your shoes.

I did the WATP 4 mile express tape yesterday for the first time. Boy is that a good workout. It sure is a lot more than just walking. Maggie requested a review and I thought I'd start it with the sentence... "Not since the Bataan death march"... but it isn't as bad as it first seems. I was ready to quit at the 2 mile mark but I figured if I could walk 7 miles around the lake then I could do 58 mins of in-house walking. The leg lifts and kicking and sliding and combinations of the above, interspersed between the walking in place, really worked muscles that don't get exercised much. I wasn't very sore though just a slight tenderness in areas. My knees suffered the worst effects but now I know what moves I have to avoid.

Just so sophie wasn't left out I did a mile with her at the local park.

If anyone is thinking about using WATP as a winter backup exercise (Maggie?) I think the 2 mile workout would be more than enough.

Ok, I get the idea, Rob. I DO appreciate the knee warning. I'm pretty cautious about that, so I'll be careful if I pick one of these for a backup routine.

Hi all. I'm back from Vegas, exhausted, had fun. Sprained my shoulder/upper arm the last day, so - guess what- no Ballys for me until it heals. Keeping it in a sling for now. Think I just pulled it dancing (yes, I was actually DANCING) - and then it popped when I swung a suitcase on the bed. Flying hope was so PAINFUL!!!

I'm glad to be home. Did a lot of walking, running. Had a few off plan items, but - WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS. Unfortunately, the lbs won't - but the treats do. Back to normal as of now. Don't think I really gained anything, but I'd be an idiot to check just now.

Rob, I thought that 4 mile might be a killer. I sometimes modify that kickbacks because they put a lot of strain on my upper thighs, if I feel so inclined. I do like the 2 mile walk though. I feel peppy afterwards.

MK, sorry to hear about your injury. Glad you had fun.

Maggie - Soem video stores and most public libraries have exercise dvds or videos. You could try a few of them to see which one suits you best and then search for it on the internet or in stores.

Mary Kay - Welcome back! Sorry about the shoulder. I know how painful that can be.

Noel - I have had to modify or eliminate a few moves. Some of the combination moves are so beyond because of my lack of coordination that I start jogging around the house until Leslie Sansonne has moved on.

I can see where this WATP is going to come in handy. It has rained here since tuesday but the rain stopped yesterday around 11:00 a.m. So I went to the lake but the trail was so sodden in places that I was actually sliding. So I just did 2 miles and then later did 2 miles of the WATP dvd. I think as the winter progresses This tape will get used more and more. Now all I need is an upper body weight training workout. Any suggestions?
