Thumbs up Our "No Cheat October" Journal by Maxibee and April Rose

As the month of October begins, April Rose and I are facing a personal challenge: having a No Cheat, No Carb-Creep October! We will be posting our menus, successes, and losses. Hopefully there will be no failures to report!

Please feel free to comment, offer encouragement, join us, or give us a kick in the pants if we need it! Here goes:

    October 1st:
I woke up positively ravenous this morning and weighed in at 227. I ate a Genisoy bar and drank a bottle of water on the way to work at 7:00 a.m. When I hit the road around 8:30 a.m., I drove thru Mc Donald's and ordered their 2 for $3.00 Sausage McMuffin without the muffins. I was hacked off when I opened them and the cheese was on the bottom and stuck to the box. DUH! (Washed them down with iced tea.) At 11:00 a.m., I had 4 peices of bacon, another Genisoy bar, and a bottle of water. At 2:00, before leaving work, I had a late lunch, or early snack. Leftover meat from last night, and some asparagus. With water, of course.

At 5:30, I was still running errands, so I had another Genisoy bar and some more iced tea. Then, I went grocery shopping and home. DH was waiting on me, wanting to go our to eat and get a new vacuum. We went to IHOP and I had a chicken fried chicken breast (yes, with gravy), and 3 sunny-side up eggs. (They weren't done enough so I didn't eat them all.) I gave my 3 pancakes that came with my meal to DH. I had 2 glasses of iced tea there.....I should've had water. Then, we went to Target and bought a Dyson Animal vacuum. Very expensive! Merry early Christmas to me! We all had an ice cream bar when we got home. I had an Atkins one, since my CarbSmart ones were out of stock.

Reading back over this, I see that I've NOT gotten off to a good start this month! I found those Genisoy Crunch bars on clearance at Walgreen's last week and I wish now I hadn't bought them. They are the ONLY l/c candy I can eat that doesn't make me sick.

Since I went to the store today, I have no excuses! I'm getting back on the STRICT track tomorrow. Halloween is just 30 days away.

How are you doing, April Rose?

Today, I slept in, then had "brunch". I scrambled an egg, and ate it on a whole wheat L/C tortilla w/some cheddar and salsa. DD and I made some L/C chocolate chip muffins, so I had one of those. (Crusteaz.....yum!) Later I shared a peach w/DD, and had another muffin.....NOTE: I will NOT be buying this stuff anymore unless it's for a special occasion!!

When the housecleaning was over, I made some Ranch dip and prepped some celery. I had one stalk. You know how once you've worked on a recipe or prepped some food, now you don't want any? Weird. Anyway, for "dinner" I stir fried some fajita beef with onions and jalapenos. I ate some in a bowl with cheddar sprinkled on top. I went for the sour cream......I forgot I used it in the Ranch dip! I also had a salad and half a peach. My sister gave me some Atkins Endulge bars, so I may have one later if I get hungry. There's also the dip and celery if hunger decides to strike.

I've also had mucho water and some Diet Pepsi. I'll be climbing on the Gazelle later while watching Trading Spaces. Later! I gotta remember those supplements......

Not a good weekend for me. No big cheats or anything, just the usual lack sleep, lack of water, lack of supplements, lack of exercise, etc. I gained weight this weekend, certainly NOT what I had planned.
Back to work today and things are already better. I love the structure that the workday brings in terms of my eating and water consumption. I will not be buying that muffin mix ever again. They were marvelous, but between the SA's and the cravings they set off, they're not worth it.

Hopefully, the rest of the month will go better. Where are you, April Rose?

Maxibee, i know what you mean about the weekdays/weekends.... I found that when we have things to do outside of the house, or go out to eat, I tend to blow that meal/s, if we stay home and i am in control of what we are eating, I don't have a problem....
I have been doing good. Exercised everyday so far this month,
no sugar (ops, a little last night - went out to eat and had a small amount of icecream with choch syrup... last time I promise)
no lc bread or tortillas yet... hoping to keep them out of my mouth for at least a week....
Today for lunch I had hamand cheese lettuce wraps... little mayo, ham cheese, and ate my grape tomatoes, and marinated cukes/onions on the side.
boy was that good... will have to do it more often...
Thats it for now. take care
    I will stop by again.

Im posting this just to say that I'm not going to post here on this thread anymore. I wanted to have a no-cheat October, and although I've really only out & out CHEATED once, I've messed around with "lowcarb" junk, and have not been as on track and focused as I wanted to. This includes sleep, supplements, and exercise, too.

So, I am going to go over to the Journaling forum and begin a journal there. It will be a place where I will be sharing (with anyone who cares to read it)my goals, good days, bad days, losses, gains and all! I really think that having a "public" journal and knowing I can be honest in it, will help me to stay on track. If I cheat, I'll write about it. If I lose a pound, I'll be happier to write about that. The key for me will be honesty and accountability.
Last year, for a while, I kept an online journal on Dr.Phil.com. I was very honest in that journal also. Knowing I have to report it in my journal is just enough deterrant to keep me from straying!
So, this is goodbye from this particular thread. Stop by and say "hi" in my journal. I will begin it Saturday, October 9.

Good for you maxi. I hate writing about the bad things I've done. But I make myself. It helps being accountable.
