Count me in too Noel. I am going to try to get to 145. I know that is really a stretch, but if I make my Thanksgiving goal then I will be well on my way--heck, I will be happy to be anywhere under 150 which I haven't been in almost 15 years! My stats will be as follows--163/163/145--18lbs to go

Okay...(deep breath) I've looked at my notebook and I've done some math (LOL, Heather!) and here's what I've come up with:

My goal weight for Halloween is 221, my goal weight for Thanksgiving is 218, my goal weight for Christmas is 214, and New Years is only a week after that, so I say my goal will be 213. (I'll probably have to go back on Induction after Christmas anyway!)

I was at 225 this morning, so that's 12 pounds away. That's ALOT for me since I'm a card-carrying member of the "Glacier Club". But I'm determined. I don't care if it takes me THREE years to get to my goal weight, I'm still gonna get there!! So, my stats for the New Year's Challenge are: 225/225/213~12 pounds to go.

Thanks, Noel for hostessing this one!

I'll bite too (LC of course! ) I'll try for 9 lbs by New Year's - so that makes me 223/223/214.

Thanks Noel!

I'm in too. I went back on plan about a week ago after pretty much being off since January (and gaining 15 lbs ). I feel good right now and hope that by joining the challenge, I'll keep the commitment to myself to stay on track through the holidays.

I'm going to make my goal that 15 lbs I have gained. That's a little more than 1.5 lbs a week, but I think I can do it. Slinky New Year's outfit here I come!

My "naked weight" this morning was 157, which makes my numbers for the challenge 157/157/142

Thanks CushieButterfield!

Welcome to a few new joiners. I'm finding that I am dreading Thanksgiving already. My mom has now said she wants to come down for Thanksgiving which means I will have to go to my sisters instead of to my friends. At my sisters there will be too many strange people for my liking and too much wine flowing. (Gosh I've become such a boring mom!) Halloween should be no problem for me. But Thanksgiving will be such a spread. I'll just have to bring more of my own food. At least if I was to stay in town I could eat before and then just a little at the friends. But my sister lives in the mountains so I have to bring a bunch of stuff up there with me because I'm sure I'll be there all day. All day with the smell of fresh baked pie! :cook: But that's why I wanted to start this challenge, to get through these events.

Here's an updated list with some new people.

Amy G 191/191/181 ~ 10 to go
Anastasia 163/163/132 ~ 31 to go (?)

biddy22 223/223/214 ~9 to go
CushieButterfield 363/363/348 ~ 15 to go
Cynnie 190/186/175 ~ already down 4! great start
golfpro 172/172/162 ~ 10 to go
HeatherRene 161.8/161.8/145 ~ 16.8 to go

Hockeygirl 158/158/150 ~ 8 to go
huskersfan869 163/163/145 ~ 18 to go
jooneezgrl 219/219/209 ~ 10 to go
LouG 161 Goal to maintain
Maxibee 225/225/213 ~ 12 to go
Sista LoCarb 201/201/186 ~ 15 to go
tammi 152/152/130 ~ 22 to go

LouG has a good idea, he is happy with his weight but now wants to maintain through the season.

Good luck, everyone.

Thumbs up Re: Happy New Year Challenge

Last year I had lots of LC stuff to chose from at the Thanksgiving table, plus there was the "regular" spread. I only had a few tastes of the high carb dishes so I wouldn't feel slighted, and filled up on the lower carb foods. That way even if you don't lose any weight from that day, you won't gain several and feel all yucky from an overdose of carbs!! My plan is to do the same this year, hopefully it works!

Ok, im in. Hmmmmm, let me see, i'd love to say 18lbs, but with my last few months track record thats not a reasonable number. But i surely would love to lose at 16 by then, oh well thats it i guess. im pushing for 16lbs by Jan 1.

My stats are as follows:

218 current
202 to goal
16 lbs to reach goal.

Noel - sorry I'm so sloooowwww
I'm in!
I really need this to help me stay on the straight and narrow the next couple of months. In addition to holidays we have birthday and anniversary.

Since my ability to exercise is limited and I don't know exactly how I'll progress with it I'm going for a modest 5 lb goal. Last I weighed was at 223 so 218 will be my New Years goal. I sure understand Maxibees comments!~~~ Bigger commitment / goal for me is to try to stay under 30 carbs each day.

Let's do it!!!

I'm not starting this challenge so well - still sitting at 223 this week. Someday, I'll see those numbers slide...

Congrats to all who have lost this week
Don't worry Biddy, some weeks are stall weeks, the postive thing is you didn't go up! Keep it up and you'll see downward movement soon!!
