Smile Happy New Year Challenge

Hello, all!

I know, who wants to do a challenge through the holidays! I figured it would help to keep me on track knowing that I still had a goal to meet. This challenge will run through January 1, 2005. That way it covers through all the upcoming holidays of the season.

I plan on updating Monday evenings. I'll make a full list of everyone that wants to join next Monday as well.

It's about 66 days to go so plan accordingly. I am not setting my sights too high because of the holidays but I still want to keep losing and have incentive not to go overboard.

So come join me!

CushieButterfield 363/363/348 ~ 15 to go

Hi Noel.
I am just getting back to this woe, and I need a focused goal. I am going to try to get to 140 by New Years Eve. Right now I think I am at about 165, so that's 15 lbs. I'm in for the challenge.

thanks,

Welcome, Heather and Sista,

Heather, you wrote 140 pounds by New Years but then wrote 15 pounds lost, which would be 150. Is that what you meant?

Until we get rolling I'll keep updating until next Monday then just weekly. So far our little group is:

CushieButterfield 363/363/348 ~ 15 to go
HeatherRene 165/165/150 (?) ~ 15 to go
Sista LoCarb 201/201/186 ~ 15 to go

Looks like we all have the same goal so far.

Cool Re: Happy New Year Challenge

I'm up for this! I started low carbing about 2 yrs ago...with the help of this website I lost 80 lbs.....but... I apparently got too cocky and thought I didn't need the support anymore. I WAS WRONG! I have gained 30 lbs back..YIKES!!! My goal is to lose 20 lbs by New Years Eve. That will be the 1st anniversary weekend for my boyfriend and I. When we started dating I was 30 lbs lighter. I HAVE to do something!!

152/152/130

Thanks!
Tammi

Count me in! I took a few months off of the LC lifestyle. Wow was that stupid. On the plus side I have been working out, which I will continue doing along with LC'ing. I'd like to lose at least 15 pounds, so my stats are 190/190/175.

Talking Re: Happy New Year Challenge

Hi,

I hope it is not to late to join you in your challenge.
My name is Anastasia, I live in Sweden, 29 years old.
Started Atkins 9 weeks ago. It's going slow but I do feel so much better.
No cravings and bloodsugar highs/lows.
For new years I want to get close to my goal weight but I'm not sure that this is resonable (sorry if my spellings not to good).
How does this work then? can you tell me how this is going to be done.
Shoul we report to you or ?????
Thank you and good luck to you all!!!!:jump:

174/163/132
(132 what I would like to be but I wonder what is normal to expect as goal for new years???)

hey noel
Count me in for 10lbs for my New Years Challenge. I'm going to shoot for 15 but I have to be realistic-the weight just isn't coming off fast. So if I make 15, I will be over my goal.
Good luck to all!!

I'm in too!
Picking a goal weight is tough. I have been losing slowly. I will say 10 pounds sounds good --I may not reach it but at least it gives me something to shoot for.
My stats are 191/191/181

"Right now I think I am at about 165, so that's 15 lbs.[to 140]"

yeah, clearly I am smoking crack. DUH!!! I'm shooting for 15 lbs, that would be only 150, and I'd like to be at 140. But I'm afraid if I go for 25 I'll give up. in about 5 minutes.

we have some good news though...I weighed in this morning at 161.8. So please start me at:

Heather 161.8/145 (16.8)

I'll try to avoid the math from here on out!

in 66 days~

Welcome one and all! It's never too late to join a challenge. As stated before, this week I am updating the list often. Starting Nov 1st I will be updating on Monday evenings only.

Amy G 191/191/181 ~ 10 to go
Anastasia 163/163/132 ~ 31 to go (?)
CushieButterfield 363/363/348 ~ 15 to go
Cynnie 190/190/175 ~ 15 to go
golfpro 172/172/162 ~ 10 to go
HeatherRene 161.8/161.8/145 ~ 16.8 to go

Hockeygirl 158/158/150 ~ 8 to go
jooneezgrl 219/219/209 ~ 10 to go
Maxibee (no goal set yet)
Sista LoCarb 201/201/186 ~ 15 to go
tammi 152/152/130 ~ 22 to go

Anastasia, how this works is you pick a goal weight that you think is challenging but realistic to reach by New Years. (Honestly any weight loss is a challenge!) If you are losing slowly right now and have just begun perhaps around 8-10 pounds, whatever you are comfortable with. 31 pounds is probably a little high. You post your weight on this thread and I update weekly on Mondays.

GOOD LUCK everyone. We can beat the holiday temptations together!

count me in... not to lose weight.. but to keep holding... lol. I worked hard to lose 34 pounds, in just a few months. And that was after struggling for TWO YEARS on the low fat diet and losing only 39 pounds in that two year period. Yep, I've worked hard, and I have no intentions of blowing it over the holidays... I have went from 234 pounds down to 161, and that is counting the two year investment in low calorie, low fat diet. For me, 161 is where I am happy. for my age, and my health, I can maintain it...If I come through the rest of the year and still weigh the same, I'll be in seventh heaven. I'd hate to have to do all that work again!!
