Hi there Islandgirl! Right - Counting Carbs and Calories. Those of us here find we do better when we use a food tracker like www.fitday.com and report our daily results in this challenge. The fact of being accountable somehere (here) often helps keep us from cheating on a one day at a time basis. Not that we don't have our cheat days, but we come here to confess and atone for them.

Today - 1770 calories, 44 net carbs.

Did pretty well today. Really well with the carbs. I didn't try and go that low but it just happened. I'm trying to be very good through next week Wednesday. Then I may have a sliver of pie. So I am doing what Atkins says...lower before a higher day. Though I may end up skipping it all together we'll see.

1617 calories and 18 carbs.

Another good day...wow this trend is growing. More good days than bad is definitly necesary to keep myself in line.

I got homemade candy that looked so good today but resisted. I even left it in the car tonight so I couldn't eat any in a moment of weakness. (If I actually walk down the stairs to the <unattached> garage, open it and get it out in this frigid weather I would have to slap myself for being so weak.)

1767 calories and 34 carbs.

The cold is a great way to keep yourself from the EVIL candy

Good job with that homemade candy Noel!

NOT a good day yesterday with 2900 calories and 60 net carbs. But a pretty good week considering Sundays football madness and yesterday's overindulgence. My averages for the past week only amounted to 2000 calories and 50 net carbs. I can live with that this time of year.

Yeah I think this time of year we deserve to have a little leaway...though I know some people don't think so, but I feel that if I am very good this week and weekend I can have that piece of pie next Wednesday.

Noel - Yes, I think we have to give ourselves some extra flexibilty this time of year. As I've been saying for weeks - If I can just maintain I'll be happy.

Tina - "Creative" food choices? - can that be a giid thing? LOL

Yesterday 1630 calories and 38 net carbs.

Let me be the first to confess, LOL.

Christmas eve and Christmas day are a blur of eating. But at least I didn;t go hog wild on carbs. Friday 3500 calories and 42 carbs and Christmas day 4000+ calories (how could you keep track?) and about 68 net carbs. This is only a guess. The only bad thing I ate was about 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes. Well the ham was honey glazed so I guess that upped the carbs considerably. I'm just ignoring the last 2 days and starting in fresh today. Am going to make a big batch of ground pork and shrimp soup with the chinese cooking set my neice gave me.

I have not been tracking the last couple days. I went nuts with lc russell stover candy yesterday as the chocolate cravings were too much for me to handle. One serving never hurts me but three servings with malitol had me up all night.

A couple days ago I had three biscuits. Lots of carbs.

I haven't been crazy on calories but the carbs were way too high I am sure.

Will start keeping track again today.

Didn't make it yesterday...was doing really well until the banana bread. I'm on a mission to make January cheat free.

I always get off to a good start but the trick will be keeping it up. Of course Wednesday I was planning on the pie but I probably shouldn't...we'll see. My last hurrah perhaps

Today was excellent and I will not give into temptation tonight or be forced to confess my weakness tomorrow.

1125 calories and 19 carbs.

Also happy to say I did really well with veggies.

This is the beginning all over for me...so, I am doing a modified fat fast through teh week then induction then I have to stay on track. I was so good for 3 1/2 months and then I started screwing up. I figure by stripping everything away and starting again I can get my mind around this WOE again. 1179 calories and 4 carbs...that's what the fat fast does...not a typ-o.
