fat, that's why it's a fat fast...though I should have had more fat but didn't. eggs, mayo, cream cheese, sausage, swiss cheese, olive oil, chicken. It's definitely not a thing to do for more than 7 days. I just can't seem to stay in ketosis. so this is the beginning of this WOE all over again. I am looking forward to eating many salads and veggies next week but I feel this is what I need right now. it may be a mental thing...wait I know it's a mental thing. but I am working through it the best I can.

Good luck on that Noel. I never tried it but many on this board have claimed good results and no ill effects. But you're right - 7 days only.

I had a good day yesterday with 1250 calories and 27 net carbs. The numbers are so low because I skipped breakfast. Bad but I had a middle of the night snack that I counted with the totals of the day before.

FF is still underway. Reread Atkins tonight again. I get inspired after reading it.

It is very limiting. Have lost most of my cravings now but hunger is still a little bit of a problem. That should go away soon enough.

1135 calories and 5 carbs.

Two days down.

I could claim yesterday was a good day but I'd be telling a fib. LOL
3000 calories and 76 net carbs, I have got to stop eating dinner so early. I finished dinner at 4:30 yesterday. Sounds early but I ate breakfast at 4:30 a.m.and lunch at 10:30. a.m. By 10 p.m. I was starving and ate a second dinner. Ugh when will I learn?

Rob, your schedule is just so strange I don't know how you do it.

Me, I'm still doing the fat fast. May not make it all the way through Monday. I might go out to eat with my mother Sunday in which case I would definitely do LC but may break the FF a day and a half early. Which I think would be fine.

Today a little low, I had everything planned out but then didn't follow that plan. 975 calories and 5 carbs.

Noel - I don't know how I do it either. LOL
I agree stopping the FF a day and a half early can do no harm.

Yesterday - 1865 calories and 48 net carbs. I wish I could manage that today but not likely since I'll be at a New years eve party tonight. Well at least I was able to wait until 5:30 to eat breakfast this morning.

That was a better yesterday, Rob. And if you go overboard tonight at least you'll come clean tomorrow.

I'm continuing on the fat fast (I'm actually over 100 calories from what I should be) but today added a little fresh spinach salad. I need some roughage!

1306 calories and 4 carbs.

Greetings and thanks for the welcome! I'm looking forward to next week (finishing overdue taxes etc now, and planning and clearing the kitchen, too, boy will DH be miffed).

I'll be joining y'all for January of 2005...and I use MasterCook for now, a handy multipurpose tool for both recipe development and food logging!

Glad to have you with us! I didn't know you could use mastercook to track your food totals. What version do you have. I'm only running version 5.0 from 5 or 6 years ago.

Noel - You're right about coming clean. The day I lie to you is the day this challenge loses any meaning.

I was pretty bad yesterday as far as calories. I cannot really even get close to estimating. I ate real crackers, maybe a dozen large ones. I had a tiny bit of ice cream cake since it was also my nephews birthday.
I mean tiny maybe 1/4 cup size piece. But man did i ever overeat cheese. I must have eaten 12 ounces if I ate an ounce. But today is not only a new day and a new month but a NEW YEAR! HAppy New Year!

I'll open the January 2005 challenge now but you can post your Dec 31st stats here if you wish.

... HAppy New Year!
Happy New Year to you, too!

I've got MasterCook 3, 4, 6 (I think) and 7; I'm fond of 4 which is where I first 'developed' my food logging technique, and where one could do a number of things easily one can't do in 7, such as save a Recipe as an Ingredient, or duplicate an Ingredient and then customize (less data entry, I'm lazy ).

However, I'm using 7 the most these days. The food logging technique hasn't changed a great deal (other than being able to save a Recipe as an Ingredient).

In basic form, one saves a day's intakes as a Recipe and names it suitably (for sorting, searching purposes). Get the day's nutritional stats at the end of it all... ideal for the CCC. To get a week's stats (averaged), create a Recipe and embed the previous 7 days' Recipes as line items. And so on.

I wrote a tutorial (rather badly!) some years ago on this, back when the 'captain' of the Newbie Crew on the LowCarb-List on the St. John's Maelstrom server. Yikes, I've been at this too long to be so far behind!
