My sheet is on the fridge as well.

Today I was filling the mailman's candy jar at the office. Full of bite sized twix, snickers, 3 musketeers and milkways. Seeing the candy does nothing for me (it sits on my computer desk) but the smell today made me think I need to make that 3-minute chocolate cake. Of course then I need to get some heavy cream.

But I have been doing well being cheat free and staying within my limits.

12 days down without a cheat! Woohooooo!
Cushie, that's so nice of you to offer the mailman a piece of candy. I have a place on my route where they are kind enough to offer me a cuppa coffee. Boy do I ever appreciate that!

We have two mailmen that we love. One is out right now with stress fractures in his feet. Not good. He's an old marine, he even still goes to train them.

Our other is ex-air force.

They are both in pretty good shape but the first doesn't eat right, I'm sure that's why he has weak bones in his feet.

We always have candy for them. They come in and chill and visit. They get nice sweaters and cakes for Christmas. I don't buy the sweaters so I can play dumb on the under $20 mailman gift rule.

Anyhow lc candy was on sale at walgreens but I abstained. I think the 3-minute chocolate cake is better for me than the malitol.

Hmmm...I didn't think US Postal Service employees could take gifts. A cup of coffee or hot chocolate is one thing, but Christmas presents? Maybe I'd better rethink Christmas gifts next year...that is, if my mailman would quit giving me my neighbors mail. It makes me wonder what they get of mine.

I can buy lunch or a cup of coffee for a source, but I can't accept a meal or even a purchased cup of coffee or Coke. I think the company would make an exception if I got a cup of java from a business decanter or if someone made me a glass of lemonade at their home, though.

Maybe we should get our office mailman a candy jar. He's a sour puss. When there's too much mail for the oversized box by the side of the street, he comes in and slams down the mail to let us know how badly we've inconvenienced him. It's got so that we see him coming and have to stifle a giggle.

Within y limits today...glad to move up a few carbs...from now until...well, I will decide later...I will be eating between 25 and 30 carbs. I did OK today though I was starving after school since lunch was awful...the salad which is usually really good was not so good and nothing else was something I was willing to eat...I usually have treats in my desk for just such occasions...but took them home over Christmas and never brought anytyhing back...so I starved...now I have a headache and I know I didn't drink enough water either...but I ate OK otherwise...

I read an article about mail carrier gifts right before Christmas. They can accept a gift up to $20. They are however discouraged from accepting cash.

Last ngiht I ate way too many almonds so I put myself in the stratosphere as far as my calories went. Then I had a sandwich with two slices of lc bread after I had already tallied everything for the day. Needless to say I was over my goals in calories (2300)and carbs (45), I count both. I'm not calling it a cheat (maybe I should but I'm not) but I am not putting a smiley on my face, just a straight line for too much of a good thing.

Talk about a cheat day...this is my first real drastic eat everything in sight and nothing low carb...nothing...well dinner was, but after skipping breakfast for all intents and purposes then waiting til I was starving to eat anythign for dinner then letting DD choose and while I should have stood my ground and refused...she was starving too...I had spicy chicken and broccoli...but I also ate about 1/3 to 1/2 of the rice with it. Then we had ice cream...not much twisting to get me to give in to that one...DD said...you're being bad and I said, nope making a bad choice but ate it anyway...It was a choice as was the oatmeal tonight, the LC candy bar and the other snack stuff I ate tonight...I can't even remember what all I ate to log it in and find out just how many carbs I have had all total today. SO 14 days down...1 LC bad day and one really crappy day as far as choices go and this is the first day I would truly call a cheat day...

Noel, I drew a worried wiggly line there the day I did that...I have a sad face today...should add tears and make it really sad today...but not going overboard with the sad faces today...but it was BAD! Good thing with today is that I did swim and I swam yesterday and was well on track...so maybe the damage will be minimal tomorrow morning!

Wow...has it been 12 days already? 88 to go!

I ate chocolate today, but I didn't call it a cheat. It was the really dark kind...85 percent cocoa...and my 1/2 a serving had about 2.5 carbs so I was well within my calorie and carb limit today. Yesterday I tried chocolate with malitol to see if my body tolerated it. No problems at all.

This way of eating seems to be more and more doable as each month goes by. Who woulda thought we could have real choclate (with peanut butter) and still be on plan?

Awesome isn't it! I was way out there yesterday...starting today with a "real" breakfast. I am not on induction...I did lose one pound in two weeks...actually I lost 4-5 but the first several don't count as they were relost pounds! Officially at 161 now...getting close to 160 and the 150's finally. That is what I am working toward! I want to be in the 150's again!

I cheated today. Big time. Tomorrow I'll get back on track but today I felt like it.

Surviving the weekend ok, always my tough time.
Hang in there Cushie, sorry to hear about your little slip up. I like kims adice, get back on track right away!
The Post Office oficially frowns down on carriers accepting gifts at xmas. But it happens and they just kinda look the other way. Heck management gets their bonuses if they meet their numbers. I think they got a lot of nerve begrudging carriers a few measly (well deserved in some cases,) offers of appreciation for a job well done.
Melissa, xmas present aren't expected so if you get lousy service I don't blame you. Heck I get lousy service too (mostly mismanagement, the route I live on is too big and the regular carrier always gets help on the street from usually a new carrier and often makes mistakes) Anyway I don't tip my carrier either. I can say though that those who do tip will get extra special treatment. Like returning later in the day to deliver a 'sig reqired' package if not home earlier in the day. Or leaving 'postage due' mail at no charge, (paid for by carrier) or other little things above and beyond. As in anything, if you get lousy service don't tip. If on the other hand you get good or excellent service and appreciate it and FEEL like being gracious, well hey, even a cup of coffee or a cold drink on a hot day is really appreciated.
Anyway keep it up people! We can do this!
