Exclamation Setting up Challenge Logos for your Signature

Many people ask how they can get the cool logos to post on their own signature lines (sig-lines) when they join a challenge. Hopefully this tutorial will help anyone who wants to do it.

There is limited space for sig-lines, so choose the images you want carefully.

1.) When you see a logo image on someone's sig-line that you would like to have on your own signature, the first thing you will want to do is place your cursor over the image. Then right click on it with your mouse to bring up a gray pop-up box. Go to the bottom of it and click on "Properties." (See Image 1) (You might want to have TWO LCE windows open, and drag them to half the size of your computer screen, so you can have these directions open on a separate page while you are doing this. Move your cursor over to the edge of the page until you get a teeny double-sided arrow.........this will let you re-size the page you are on. Left click your mouse when that arrow shows up, hold it down and you will be able to grab the edge of the page. You can set two pages up side by side, by making them skinnier.

2.) After clicking on "Properties" another gray box will pop up showing a code that starts with "http//"
Drag your mouse over that code, while holding down the left mouse button. This will highlight it in dark blue. (See Image 2)

3) RIGHT click your mouse on that highlighted code. That will bring up a "Copy" function. Click on the "copy." This puts the code in your pasting buffer on your computer. (See Image 3)

4) Now you are carrying the little "package" of the code and you are going to scroll to the top of the page you are on and you want to click on "User CP." (See image 4)This gets you into your OWN managment tools page.

5) Now you are going to Edit your Signature. Click on the "Edit Signature" choice seen here in image 5. (Not in this actual image, but in YOUR signature page)

6) Now you are going to PASTE the code into the text box.(Right click and choose "Paste" like you did to "Copy" as before. Click on the "Paste" function with your left mouse button.) After you paste it in there, you have to surround the code with image tags. Use the square brackets [ ] to surround the img tags, like this: [img] This is your start tag. You then have to close the tag with the same code but insert a / just before the img abbreviation at the end of the code. See image 6

7) Now you are ready to submit your new sig-line. At the bottom of the page there is a button to save your signature. (see image 7) Be sure and click that so the site knows to post that everytime you add to a new thread page. This logo will only show up on the first post of each new page when you contribute to a thread. If you post multiple times on one page, it won't show up every time.
You can hit the Preview button before submitting your signature to see if it worked.

OK, for mac users:

Put your cursor over the logo of your choice. Click and hold a second. You'll get a menu like this.

Choose "copy image location" and then go to number 4 above and follow the directions.

Kim, you can only add a certain number of characters to a signature. One way around that is to go to tinyurl.com. Plug in a long url and it will give you a shorter one. Right now, you're carrying around about 60 extra characters for a broken link (http://www.countrycornercrafts.com/her1.gif). The couch fauxtato (http://tinyurl.com/6z4g2) and green tea (http://tinyurl.com/3t7dz) challenge logos both have tiny url versions.

The shorter the url, the easier it is to fit into one's signature. You can do this with any logo url.
