| I had a carbfest Friday, a good weekend, and a sort of carbfest Monday and I am TOTALLY back on track today...but my weight is up, I know. I will weigh soon and see what the damage is. In the meantime, I'm not giving up!

| Good for you Maxibee! Late in the day yesterday, I ate a donut! A %&$* donut. What in the heck was I thinking? It wasn't even that good. Well, today is a new day but I need to take a serious look at my committment because that was wierd. They had been sitting there all day, then all of the sudden out of the blue at about 4 pm ( I wasn't hungry) I just walked up, got one, and ate it. Like I do it all the time. No trying to talk myself out of it, not much self talk at all. Just decided to do it. I'm a little baffled by my own behavior. Anyway, that's me today.

| Renee, it's TP by CD: Temporary Possession by Carb Demons! Thankfully, it didn't last long for you! It's weird.....I never even thought about this until today. I can always tell when I'm in ketosis....my pee smells funny. I never noticed that it had quit smelling funny (because of Friday's and Monday's carbfests). So, today I had to pee and wow, was it noticeable! Maybe the shock of the carbfests is what my body needed. I am still going to have my throid levels checked Friday. I'm gonna weigh tomorrow and see what's going on..... A friend of my has PCOS and has started a new hormone therapy and has already lost 12 pounds in the last 3 weeks. I'm hoping my "turtleness" is partially because of my hormones and/or thyroid. I would hate to think I'm just destined to lose 10 pounds per year! If so, I should be at my goal weight by the time I'm 48! Anyway, hang in there everyone! We'll ALL make it, eventually!

| Hi all! Thanks Maxi for the explanation. Fortunately I didn't keep going down that track and it seems to have passed. I have been sloppy though...not counting, not getting all my veggies in. I hurt my foot soemhow last weekend and so i've been not walking or exercising. I'm staying off the scale. I can tell by my clothes that things are not moving. I feel like it's time to do somethign different, but I'm just not sure what. Maybe cut back on the fat and calories. I've been a little depressed lately--this usually happens when i am sick of winter and ready for spring and can't take one more cloudy day. So all in all it's not a good itme and i am happy jsut not to be gaining for now. How is everyone else doing?

| Oh sorry things are down for you Renee - this winter has got to end before long right. I am ready for nice sunny days too. Well, I sound like a broken record but still no movement on the scale. I'm not sure what my body is doing, but I've had about enough! Maxi did you find out anything with your bloodwork? I haven't had mine tested in quite some time - maybe its time for that?

| I hate to brag (no, silly....I didn't lose any weight!) but we've had 2 of the most gorgeous days here in North Texas! They start out cool and end up cloudless and windy and 65-70 degrees. Gotta love it. It may be psychological, or it may be physiological, but I am feeling better and more positive already. My doctor's scales weighed me at 228 (after breakfast with clothes on), so I feel like my home scales are right...I weighed 226 before breakfast without clothes. I was watching "The National Body Challenge" last night while I was steaming clothes. The governor of ???? lost a bunch of weight and got into shape. His advice was to focus on being healthy and the weight will come off as a result. (Each person featured was asked to give the rest of us some advice about what helped them the most.) Maybe I should put away the scale and focus on getting in my big 5: 1. Sleep 2. Eating right 3. Exercise 4. Supplements 5. Water It seems like if I don't get these 5 things all lined up in any given day, I don't lose. My body seems to REQUIRE these 5 things or it's not cooperating! I do know this: I WILL be "over the wall" by the end of the 2005 calendar year. Count on it. That's 27 pounds from now. It seems like 127 to me. I was down to 221 last Fall, but since my Christmas carbfest, I've not been able to get back down there....YET!

| You will get there Maxi, and so will we all if we just keep doing what we know is right for us. I liked your list of 5, I love keeping it as simple as possible. I upped my carbs this week a little bit, by adding in an ounce of nuts for 2 days and a piece of low carb cheesecake factory cheesecake for 2 days. Thought I was being sloppy but now today I feel like I've lost...geez. Well, I was keeping my carbs between 20-25 because I wasn't exercising; maybe my body thought it was starving and the nuts and or cheesekace woke it up. Needless to say, I'm happy about it but i still think I wil stay away from the scale a while longer. I may become a once a month weigher. Have a great weekend everyone!

| Well tomorrow morning starts my induction phase again..... and I"m kicking back into my workouts.... and I"m going to faithfully drink my GT and water, and I'm going to try not to stress... .... I'm hoping to be over the 199 wall by the end of induction, but even if I'm not, just starting to lose again would be a great thing. I am vowing to never see the scale going up again(unless it's a few years from now when I decide to have children, and that will just be in proportion). i really want to hit my goal weight.... not only do I want to get to bootcamp, but I want to be able to wear the cute clothes and most of all, a bikini and not feel as if I need to hide my body. I want to be proud of having a fit and healthy body. Health and fitness are my main concern at this point... ya know? Well I'll see you all next sunday to share my progress with induction... I'm staying off the scale once I weigh tomorrow morning for my final start weight until next sunday. I think I'll be using my ketosis strips, but I'll definately be anticipating seeing the first loss I've had in months. |

| Megan, I see you found it and bumped it up for us! I had a BIG regain....up to 233, but lost it quickly by actually EXERCISING and eating right. I started taking my supplements in the morning, too. Just doing things differently and shaking it up a bit! I hope I can get over the wall by this year's end. My thyroid test came back normal, so I have NO MORE EXCUSES! Let's do this!

| Still at 220. Sigh. Nothing happening for me. But, I did walk for 30 mins the past 3 days and this mornign i woke up feeling a little skinnier. Lets hope! Good on your thyroid test, Maxibee. I dont have any excuses either, but my enthusiasm seems to be on vacation. I just keep being really glad I'm not gaining and that I'm feeling good. That in itself is so much different than it used to be. I will hit 199 in 2005. That's all i know.

| Renee, you know I have been in the same mindset. I hate being at the same weight, but just keep thinking, well at least I'm not gaining; I feel so much better than I have in years. We'll all cross that 199 mark this year! Just stay the course. It's been so long since I've seen that 1 in front...I need to think of some great reward to set my sites on! -Angie

| Well, maybe I'm starting to trend downward again. I actually have a 0.5 lb loss this week. Now, I know that's not very much, but seeing as I haven't lost anything in so long, I'll take anything. How's everyone else doing?

| Hmmmmm, I sooooooo want to hit this challenge, why cant it happen before easter, lol. Im thinking i need to do a reinduction, each time i get ready to do one this crazy body drops 2lbs and i think im back to losing and then thats it. I have never done a reinduction and ive been lcing since jan. 04. I'll decide by sunday what i will do. good luck to everyone, and yes we all will reach goal, just wish it could happen for us a lil faster, lol.
