Default CCC Challenge - February 05

CCC stands for Counting Carbs and Calories.

Those of us here find we do better when we use a food tracker like www.fitday.com and report our daily results in this challenge. The fact of being accountable somewhere (here) often helps keep us from cheating on a one day at a time basis. Not that we don't have our cheat days, but we come here to confess and atone for them.

There hasn't been a lot of members in this challenge but if this helps even one person stick with this woe and do better then it's worth being here.

Well HOLY COW what a way to start out the new month. Here's my numbers for yesterday:

    Totals 2674 Calories 229 Fat (78%) 37 (-5 for net 32Carbs) 119 Protien

I made cream cheese stuffed Jalepeno's last night. Stuck a shrimp on it, and wrapped it with Bacon. That Cream Cheese REALLY hits the calories doesn't it! Plus, there the type of food that you just don't want to stop eating. I ate FOURTEEN of them (1/2 Jalepeno's) which is not good for the digestive system.

I had eggs this morning, and one of my nukeable lunch meals with yogurt, and a delicious meal of some sort of grilled fish tonight. Depending on what's on sale. That should thoroughly shock my body into thinking 'WHAT THE HECK?' Yesterday we had a TON of calories... today we are back to 'normal?'. :jumpgreen

Hope you guys have an awesome day!

Actually that can be a good thing! This is a strategy in a link I just read on ediets.com. I don't know how to post a link, but you can find it under the Low carb Diet and Health News section of the message boards (second one down). The thread is "Boost Your Fat Burning Metabolism". Anyway, it lists 10 things to "speed up your fat loss" and #4 is to cycle calories. Take a look, it's interesting.

Sunday I had 2103 calories and 11 carbs and 1338 calories and 8 carbs Monday. Today I'm right on track with my breakfast of eggs and lunch of a salad and side of tuna.

Stuffed jalapenos sound so good. Soon enough we'll have the pepper stands on the side of the roads and I can get some good fresh ones. But maybe I'll get some from the store now...it just sounds too yummy.

This month I am trying to keep around 1700 calories again but for the next two weeks I'll be in induction so I may be a little high on calories some days (like Sunday).

I never thought I would join in on counting calories, but the fact is, sitting on a stall like this really stinks, so I need to find some way to motivate my weight loss a little more. I think I really have been getting too much sodium and too many calories.... so I'm going to post here everyday to keep track and make myself a bit more accountable. I really have been slacking on using fitday.com lately, so I need to get back to that. I need to go to mybodycomp.com, do a measure-in, and figure out how many calories I should be eating a day. Guess I"ll go do that now. See you all tomorrow!

Oh.. one more thing, I'm a firm believer in that "cycling" your calories thing. Sometimes I do it by accident, like weekends I"m with Andrew and we are so busy that I forget to eat half the time. But most of the time it's a controlled thing, and I always get a huge whoosh that week. It's a nice thing.

Today's numbers: 1266 calories, 86.5 fat (62%), 95 protien, 34.9 carbs less 13.3 fiber = 21.6 net carbs. This is kinda low but I got ticked off at the scale this morning. Yesterday was a bigger day, so I guess it was to be expected. Oh well, drank tons of water today and we'll see what happens Wed.

    Totals 2036 Calories 36 Carbs.

I seem to have completely skipped right over my target of 30 carbs for the week...

We had a friend come over for dinner who fixed baked Talapia last night... I made some Italian Stuffed Mushrooms and broccoli with cheese. Absolutely delightful dinner. The tartar sauce was a bit high in calories/carbs though. Have to use that a bit more sparingly next time.

Great job Rob! I didn't eat enough today, but I just wasn't hungry and what I ate was low in calories. 1152 calories, 72.9 fat, 91.8 protien, 38.2 carbs less 16.2 fiber = 22 net carbs.

Maybe I'll make this a calorie cycle thing and eat alot tomorrow. I saw that tip somewhere, so I'll give it a shot. Anyone tried that before?

Man oh Man it was a fishy day. I had talapia for lunch... mmhhhmmm good, and then my wonderful husband took us out tonight for dinner, and I had broiled catfish for dinner. I love grilled/broiled fish. It's just way too darn delicious. Calories are still on the low side - but I ate tons of food -- lots of high fiber stuff that seems low in calories, so I'm just going to accept it's part and parcel of this woe. Cycling....sure .. that's what I intended to do! ;-)

I had a fishy night...ate two grilled garlic butter pollock fillets. The baby actually liked them as well. Will have to buy them again (they were the frozen kind).

Right on the edge of induction level. I treated myself to a tablespoon of peanut butter. Which may be an induction no-no. But it was that or really cheat and I can live with the spoonful of pb.

    1524 calories and 20 carbs.

Must have been something in the air yesterday. I made fried whiting for dinner (excellent with an almond meal/carb mix coating) and my sister called and was having fried catfish.

The fish I bought was on sale buy one get one free so if it still on sale now (sales change Wednesdays) knowing baby liked it I am going to stock up on it this weekend!

I'm going to have to try the almond flour breading with the fresh fish I buy. I haven't yet but have the makings in the cupboard.
