Barb - Just joking. LOL! Oh Yes the time change is wonderful for me too.

Maggie - That hole punch routine sounds like it should have burned up some extra calories or at least pumped up the muscles in your hand. LOL

Ed - April and rain....That's why i take full advantage of the good days.

What a great day yesterday. Went to the lake and went back up that path i mentioned a while back. The one where I found that little cemetery. Anyway I decided to walk further up and soon it ended at a street. I walked a ways on that street and found that some of the names on the mailboxes were the same as on the tombstones. Anyway I ended up with a 4 1/2 mile walk.
Then this morning I got out to the lake early and walked 4 miles at a pretty fast (for me) clip.

Just a late bulletin coming in right now. Rob has gone for a second walk for the day. This one 3 miles - making a total of 7 for the day. The day just turned out so beautufil (75 degrees and sunny) I couldn't resist.

***sigh*** I did NOT do what I intended today. I'm a bit down about a friend of mine who seems to be at the helm of a failing business. So I've grabbed onto this as an excuse. (I may be good at rationalizing, but at least I'm honest about it. )

I don't know about tomorrow and Wednesday I have to teach after work. ... so..

I know I'm making up excuses in advance, but I also know that it won't take forever for me to find my way back to some sort of activity. 'Specially if I have to come here and "fess up". At some point it will kick in.

Blehhh. It was cold and windy today and half the county is under water, the mighty Susquehanna & Chenango rivers having overflowed their respective banks. Since I'm on a hill, I'm cool, but a bunch of major roads are closed, so it's hard to get anywhere.

It was so nice today, I got out and did my 90 minute walk. (got it in yesterday too) Tonight I had a regular pepsi (have not had one of those in months) and a falafel with chicken and hummas. Not a good LC dinner I know but it was free. The place opened today. It was a nice treat but not something I'd do everyday.

I went for a walk at lunchtime yesterday, which is better than just sitting on my butt, I guess.

It was actually a pretty nice day, still a bit cool for my taste, but the sun was out and the rivers were going down.

My plan is to walk this afternoon, again, since I've got to teach this evening.

now, if I could just get rid of the sugar problem I have going right now, I'd be doing well.

Maggie, I was wondering if you were affected by the flooding. One of our warehouses is in Wayne, N.J., and I kept thinking while they showed footage on the weather channel if they are going to have problems shipping from that location. Bizarre weather.

Looks like y'all are doing well.

I made it to Curves on Monday and plan to go today too. And of course, paint, paint, paint. I still haven't dug the bike out of the garage yet, it's still crazy here with having to watch the grandkids, take DSS to the doctor, etc. Now his wife has a cold as well as my DH. We were going to watch the kids last night while she went to work, but I ended up working her hours for her since she felt like crapola. I sure would like to know what "normal" is.

OK, Maggie and fellow Taters, I'm in because I need to at least do my Walk Away the Pounds dvds. I had been enjoying Curves, but most of you know I had to stop because it was stressing my joints due to this lovely rheumatoid arthritis. Early this evening I WILL, I WILL, I WILL get my WATP done. THEN, I shall report back here tonight whether or not!

Who thinks I WILL do my dvds???

Maggie - I knew you'd manage something! Your weather will warm soon!

Ed - Good going on the walk!

Mary Kay - Glad to see that star system is working for you!

Barb - I think with all you have to do lately you certainly can count it all as activity!

Another beautiful day yesterday! Walked 3 miles at Tanglewood park. Temperature reached 82 yesterday and is supposed to reach that today. I hope Summer weather doesn't get here too quickly.

Susie - you CAN and WILL do it. I can't believe I'm finally back into doing something, anything. Just have to get through those first few days.

MaryKay, thanks for your vote of confidence! Although, just might have to come to my door and give me a swift kick in the behind for motivation. Glad you're back into something that's working for you. Do you still go to Curves?

I ended up quitting Curves when I got strong enough and could go back to Ballys - I still have another year on that membership.
My curves just has crappy hours, and it was hard to take off to go.
Ballys, I got into going 2-3 times a week and was really enjoying it - then, September, they did some surgery on my ankle and I was back on crutches for a month.
Haven't been able to get my head into exercise since then.

Finally - once I get to the 3 m tape without dying, I'll feel like my stamina is enough to go back to ballys without dying (and quitting). I've been doing the walking at 6 am, which is when I would do ballys, so should be fairly simple to swap it out.
Hopefully , will be there in a week or 2 - and then I can get back to the weight work.

MK, I just realized you're doing WATP, too!

What is everybody else doing to get their exercise in?

Susie, I have every confidence in you!!!! YOU CAN DO IT GIRLFRIEND!!!! Just make sure you don't try to do tooooo much in the beginning. It's okay to work your way up.

MK, I'm so proud of you getting back to exercising!!!! GREAT GOING!!!!

I got over to Curves this AM. I forgot to bring my weights with me and ended up gabbing with my favorite Curves "girl" so I only did my 30 mins. But it's bettern'nuttin. I need to get my DVD out and dust it off too. AND I STILL haven't dug the bike out of the garage. Eventually!!!!

Hey, Susie! Welcome to the tater patch!

After several different "plans", I was doing curves in a really intensive manner from September to ... oh, I don't know about Feb, maybe. Then I started in with a series of joint and spine problems, my left knee being the worst, so I backed off, then I went back with a knee brace, then (probably thanks to the brace) my hip and back got bad. ... yadda, yadda, yadda .... everyone here's been listening to me whine for a while now.

Anyway, I still haven't figured out exacly what my latest plan is ... I'm sort of back to where I started over a year ago, I will do SOMETHING! What, exactly that is remains to be determined.

Today I walked a bunch at lunchtime. Then I played foster mother to a young kitty in my office for the afternoon (long story), then I had to teach a class.

Now I'm just hoping that Lost isn't another re-run.
