Susie - Welcome the challenge. We were posting at the same time when you first joined.

Mary Kay - Good luck progressing back to Ballys!

MAggie - Welcome to the world of outdoor walkers!

Barb - Congratulations on the 137!

I only walked 2 miles yesterday but some of it was over rough ground.

Day 12, and I'm still walking. 2 m every day this week. Tomorrow I'll give the 3 mi tape a shot (omg).
This weekend I'm going to clean up my bedroom - need to find a little notebook that had my Bally workouts listed.

no way, no how. The man is a wonder walker. Plus, I don't do it outside. First off, it's too cold. and when it gets warmer, it's too hot.
I'm whiney. and, unfortunately, I get bored walking outside. I've tried.

I'll just stick with my WATP, in my very strange workout outfit, in the privacy of my own home. You know why I do it first thing in the morning - cause hubby isn't up yet. Only the dog there to snicker at me.

Wow, Mary Kay! You've gotta have a whole bunch of stars already! WTG!

Rob, rough ground counts extra.

Barb, how's everyone doing there?

Well, I did another walk today (these aren't long strenuous walks, I just walk away from the courthouse in any direction for 15 minutes and then come back.) But I also did a very good upper body workout with weights when I got home. Arms still feel well used.

If this weather keeps up, tomorrow is yard work.

Ya think it's time to take down the christmas lights?

Maggie- there are a few houses in my area that still have their christmas lights up. It's the ones that put them on the roofs. you think someone would invent stealth lights that would hide in the gutters when you turn them off. LOL

Good for you on the walking! Just take it easy and don't damage yourself. Oh, and send your kids up on the roof to get the light down. LOL

Ah, Ed. My boys are a little out of reach most of the time, as they don't live locally. It took me a while to get over the loss of two strong young guys who I could coerce into doing heavy tasks for me. LOL! At least I trained them right for other women who may come into their lives.

I've got exactly three strings of lights, which makes one line straight across the front of the house hung on the gutter. It's not high and not complicated. I just refuse to put them up or down when the weather is cold. Consequently, I guess they're up there about half of every year.

I do like your idea about stealth lights! When they come out with them, I'm there!

Hey, gang! Popping in for a visit, since I wanted to congrat Barb on conquering the 130's!

Maggie, Christmas lights count as double exercise, don't they?

Hi fellow-taters
Did it!!! did the 3 mile tape. but this is the first time I have used this tape, and there are some really bad sections on it. But I still managed.
Don't know if I could do it every morning, but both weekend days I should be able to. The other days I may stick with the 2 mile.

feeling good, had 2 good 'food' days too, and yesterday got to chat with a very special person in a chat room. Still smiling.

Mary Kay - I agree walking outsie gets boring. But not if you drive to a really nice park and bring the dog. You're doing pretty well on the WATP. I find that my 4 mile WATP express is far harder than walking 4 miles outdoors.

Barb - I think you may be right it looks like Mary Kay may give me a run for my money.

Maggie - According to fitday walking 30 minutes at 3.5 miles per hour Cross country (i.e. rough ground) as opposed to a paved surface uses 1.65 times the calories. which for me translates to 75 extra calories. So if I do an hour that's 150 extra.

Hi Breanda - nice to see you!

Ed - If you can invent stealth lights you'd make a fortune!

The weather was miserable yesterday but there was a few hours in the afternoon when the rain stopped. So I ran to a local park and walked 2 miles. It's supposed to get partly sunny this afternoon so I'm hoping to get in a longer walk. But listening to that wind howl makes me want to go back to bed.

Rob-I was thinking about it, then one thought was of Steve Martin in the Jerk. If you've seen that movie you know what happend. LOL That would be my luck.
The weather is so nice here today. I have to get out there! Yardwork and try to walk.
