Wow have i missed a lot?! Been busy a few days and feel like I'm out of the loop...Count me in this challenge with all of you. I really need to just focus on me and not the scale too. I guess I'll gauge how I'm doing by clothing and a general sense of well being.

Sounds like everyone is off to a good start!

re: feet

i can't handle people touching my feet either. plus, i have obnoxious little-bitty toenails. so needless to say, there've been no pedicures in my life time. and ya, i hear ya about not being very girly because of the weight. i am also learning to be a girl now!

i will, however, let my roommate paint my toenails... not sure why.

Hey Biddy22 - delighted to have you here Look - honestly - I tell ya - I take one sleep and one beachwalk and America adds a whole book to the Challenge! Yeah - well I go with Noel's 'skinny me' thoughts and also my clothes. But I do weighin - just stick to my nominated day and no inbetween 'scale-snacking!' Actually - I just noticed today - I haven't thought about the scale monster all day - neat! (wish giving up alcohol and nicotine had been that easy!)

leahruthie - I reckon we can be girly if we've lost weight or not. We've got a brand of clothing here - MaggieT and the designer was once a model - but put on lots and lots of weight over the years but she is still one of the most feminine women around town. However, I know where you're coming from definitely. Its also been very difficult to buy pretty clothes in larger sizes here - although that is improving nowdays. At my heaviest I always wore men's shirts and loose pants - because I just couldn't get anything else to look halfway reasonable. My feet were very swollen also. And as for high boots -forget them! No way they would go anywhere near my calves! Used to infuriate me!! I believe this reticence to express our feminity (and be noticed!) can also be attributed to the feedback we get from others - and the 'me's' we've created from those feelings eh?

Good morning all,
I went to bed early last night after taking a lengthy nap.....have been fighting off a chest cold, so did not feel too great, but made myself eat some strawberries.I love pedicures, trying to stay awake during most of it is my problem, that is until they get to the bottoms of my feet, then I am awake for sure....but I found a great little girl that is so gentle that I don't jump out of my skin I have normal sized toenails except for the pinkie toenail and it is tiny, but I no longer worry about that, it makes me feel too good
Still staying on plan and have in 8 days of exercise in a row so I can't really complain.
Hope we have many non scale victories

I've made it 2 days without getting on the scale which is a MAJOR accomplishment for me!!

As far as pedicures - I love 'em - got one last night and almost fell asleep in the chair while the girl was doing it!!

Pretty fingernails and toenails is one of my "pampers" that I give myself!

Hope you feel better, Junie.

Last night I felt pretty..."I feel pretty, oh so pretty..." I kept singing that song. It's been a while since I've felt pretty. I just liked my hair (I've been growing it out) and my look and everything fell into place. I wasn't going anywhere, I wasn't dressed up, not even any makeup on and I still felt pretty. Go figure.

Still off the scale and still on plan. Doing well with the morning walking though it's getting a bit hot now in the mornings, actually staying hot from the day before. I hate it when it's hot at night. I'm glad I'm off the scale still. I'm just certain I'm getting down close to 310 already, but we will just wait and see. I put on a fancy long purple dress I bought years ago for New Years Eve last night. It goes on and with the zipper closed (I tried it on once and it wouldn't fit even with teh zipper open). It's still a bit tight, it's a size 24. I bought it from Dillards I think. Anyhow it can easily be taken in so I am planning on wearing it this New Years Eve. Which means I will have to go out but I think by then I'll be ready to brave the world again.

Thanks Noel,
I love it when I go shopping in my closet to find something now fits and many times I even find it is now too big!! While that is nice I sometimes have clothes to give away with the tags still on it.....and sometimes this happens without any loss on the scale, so another reason to not pay a lot of attention to the evil lying scales

Default Labor Day Challenge

That is to funny Junieshops! That happened to me a couple of months back. I was waiting to wear this cool shirt and when I put it on I couldn't been wearing it for months and now looked to baggy on me! I try to check all my clothes once a month but been getting side tracked. Serves me right for neglecting my monthly clothes fitting!

I really have to get new exercise clothes now. I've been wearing these for about 30 pounds or so and the draw string I've had to cut down as it was hanging so low.

O wow - just listen to all you wonder women!! This is just so great that we're all feeling so positive eh!! What a delightful treat to find first thing in the morning! I'm growing my hair out too Noel - and its goin right down to my A** as Junie says!!! And isn't it fun trying on clothes and they fit - honestly - going through my wardrobe nowdays is as good as going to a dress shop! One thing I have noticed lately in our shops here - clothes are much smaller and tighter than they used to be - I'm sure. Even the Big is Beautiful sizes are smaller. That makes us doubly clever!!! I think what we may all be beginning to realise here - is that the journey of discovery and celebration is JUST as important as the final outcomes? We can learn so much of ourselves if we take time to smell the flowers on the way eh? Well done all of us!

I love the shopping my closet. I wore one of my Harry Potter shirts today in anticipation for going to get it midnight Friday. Last year when I bought it, I was nervous because it was kinda huggy on me. Today it was baggy and swollowed me! Yayness, and a friend gave me a pair of khakis and when I tried them on after my gallbladder surgery it was pantyline wishes and cellulite dreams! I wore them last week and they were bootylicious!
Also Junie, the pink and red party dress you gave me, I went to wear to one of the kids parties and it doesn't fit anymore! Tis too big, so if you like I can give it back to you and you can exchange it or something.

Today was good, on plan and a two hour trip to the gym. whee! I'm a little tired but I have energy - how does that work? Again with the 7 bottles of water. I can actually touch myself and feel the muscles beneath the skin. That is so cool.

hey, all you recovering scale-aholics! I've found something new to obsess about: Keto-stix! I used to forget about using them. Now I use them every morning! How funny is that? (At least they show I am in ketosis!)

Sounds like everyone is doing good so far. I've done well, except for exercise. I'm gonna try to get back to getting in a 30 minute workout before I get ready for work, that way it's done for the day.

It's late and if I'm gonna get up early to exercise, I'd better go!

I used the keto stix last night after supper to see if I had gotten back into ketosis after the saturday bread binge and I had which made me happy. But I don't use them htat often anymore. I was getting keto-happy for a time as well. I would do it in the morning then the evening as well for good emasure. When I was on a liquid diet back in the 90's they said to use them in the morning then I read to use them after supper so I was doing both for a while this spring. Now I do it whenever. I figure if I am in ketosis after supper with the entire days food in me that it can only be a good thing. But who knows. Maybe I'll check tomorrow morning just to be sure
