That's a very impressive history Junie - I really admire your determination and its paid off eh!

Love the furnace story Noel - can you just imagine nipping down to the furnace room to furtively jump on scale monster! Well done for resisting!

I was thinking last night of what other benefits from this WOE. I think most direct benefit is actually enjoying immensely what I eat! And looking forward to my meals. Before it was sort of continual grazing with very limited choice. I really don't have any foods that I don't eat - but bread (love the signature Noel!) and potato varieties and soft cheeses. I eat things now I would never of dreamt of when I was trying to loose weight in earlier years - just a lot less of them!

Heather - seems so long since I've been a 'decent' weight that I'm having trouble remembering - but had a neat little 'win' last week. My ex DH's 2nd wife emailed to say he was raving about my weight loss (pleased to hear that little snippet!) and she wanted to know how I'd done it and how much I'd lost. As I've known her for many years (and I'm not that wrapped in her behaviour!) I was delighted to hear that apparently ex DH had gone home and told her I looked like I did at 30!! O make my day lady! (Had that been me - I wouldn't have told me that!)

beachfox, that's so cool! I don't think I would have told my husband's ex that... in fact I know I wouldn't! heh, nobody's perfect.

thanks for the input on the ketostix questions, the info helped I'm not worried about slipping out anymore. I'm being good.

I'm not quite to goal, within about 30 lbs of it actually, but the last time I could wear 14s was in 8th grade (I'm a senior in college now). I've even got a pair of 12 shorts and that's just awesome. I'm hoping for 10 eventually.

No real growth on the fingernails yet, I bit them off pretty good. My roommate has already left for the weekend, so its just me. Plans so far are cleaning the room, the fridge, laundry, and grocery shopping. exciting, eh? ;p

how awesome for you beachy! What a pick-me-up!

I've been doing ok - trying to be a little more strict. My mom was here this week, so I've nibbled a few things I shouldn't have...she headed home today, so maybe I'll be more in control now. I am a bridesmaid in my friends wedding in August - need to get back in the swing of things; esp with the exercising. I was doing the resistance ball religiously, but have slacked on that too. I love doing it, guess I've just been lazy. All of you give me such motivation - nice to be part of such a positive group! Thanks!

Thank YOU for participating Biddy22. Yep - I was quite pleased with myself after that little item actually - given that I was traded in for her (as apparently the more desirable model) about 20 years ago because ex DH THOUGHT that's what he wanted. He is one of those people who is extremely generous - its just that he needs one's soul in return! (Its also more useful if one doesn't have 'no' in one's volcabulary! He's got lots of pretty toys at his place too and I suspect that was a big attraction!) Unfortunately for the poor woman she has now contracted a rather nasty aging disorder. Whilst I would always feel sorry for anyone in that situation - at the same time - when people have been extraordinarily selfish and caused great pain to others in order to further their own agenda - then I cannot help but think that what goes around comes around - and I continue to subscribe to the laws of natural justice!

An interest thing I was thinking this morning too and Junie raised the issue in her journal. I feel I have a responsibility to be a role model for this WOE/WOL now. One of the best (and easiest) ways of dealing with the c**p food producers agendas is to attract others to our programs. Also - given the great results we all get - its part of passing on the knowledge eh?

This post is actually inspired by Noel's Journal. The benefits of walking. I was discussing male and female roles with a male friend today. He was commenting that if one takes a good look at women (which I'm sure he does!) and men also to a degree - very few people actually walk properly or even - dare I say it - attractively - nowdays. So I had a good look at everyone in town this afternoon - and he's right! Women just were not walking properly. There was no hip sway or natural movement - most were either mincing or plodding! And I've had some people (and he was one of them - which is how this discussion today started) comment that even my movements are different. And you know - when I thought about it - why wouldn't they be? The entire hip region moves quite differently when one is walking a distance instead of just hopping from the car to the shops! Nowdays - I park my car as far away from the shops as possible - and I walk as much as I can. I really think I need to nominate walking as essential for this WOL! I also think (but have no documentation) that it probably aids digestion and also the body's distribution of food attributes? So Noel - I reckon you are doing just the best thing possible with that walking!

Hello Biddy,
I found after my surgery when I was able to exercise again that I had to fake it until it became real for me again, just put one foot in front of the other and sure enough before long I was loving it and motivated again
Beach, I have noticed lately that I went from a waddle back to a walk with a swing in my hips like before gaining weight....I even had the thought cross my mind that maybe I should try to suppress my swing since I am no spring chicken anymore
MK your fingernails will grow before you know it, so no more biting, use clippers instead

Well, I fell off of the "scale wagon" this morning - I made it 3 days, which is awesome for me!! Now I'll try for 4 days!! Good news from the scales though - two pounds gone!

Well Georgia girl, guess that makes it good news and bads news huh
I just made my 11th workout in a row and I think its time to take a break.....(just one day) but I bought just keto strips and saw a trace which made me happy cause I had a smal serving of red potatoes last night
I found a replacement toe ring at a local pawn shop for 10 bux, a white gold band, so now I can have pretty feet again!!

Thanks for the thought Junie. I did get up this morning and did my Core Secrets. It felt great! Now to just make it a habit.

Awesome on the toe ring - I have 2 I wear regularly in warm weather. I love how my toes look with it on, and it strangley makes me feel attractive. My mom did a french pedicure for me before she headed home, so my toes are quite pretty right now.

Yes, this is what I found too Junie - I was into what I called 'the geriatric waddle' - awful isn't it! Aggghhh! Never go there again fox! Well - to be honest, that hip swing is what my friend was commenting on - yeah - well true, he's that sort of 'good' friend! Do I think I'm too old to swing my hips - hell no!! I'm just glad I've got it back! (And I bet I'm older than you Junie!) I'm goin' for it! I love the sound of the foot jewellery - how wonderful. I think those are just so deliciously feminine - good for all of you. What is a french pedicure Biddy?

Georgia Girl - don't worry about falling prey to the scale monster - the important thing is you have set a new extended time - little by little we get there! (and you cheeky woman - you scored a loss anyway!)

Motivation - yes, interesting thing eh. I always find that I need to go seek motivation - it doesn't leap upon me whilst I'm sitting in my chair! I think I saw a post by bkloots - who says she sometimes just thinks do a few minutes or so exercise and it always ends up more like 30. It doesn't matter how small to start - just START NOW!!!

Thank goodness the weekend is here! I'm so ready for a bit of fun, and that's what I'm gonna do tonight. Had a fabu day. I have a job! ... well, another one. I went in for the dominoes interview and the guy thought I rocked, I had the job in 3 minutes. I start Tuesday, which sucks cuz that means I'll miss tango class. oh well.

As far as the swinging of the hips, I'm still working on it. I keep tripping over things when I try. I'm not exactly graceful, more of a klutz. I do find that its alot easier when you wear heels, though. ;p

Wow Beachfox, I need to hang around you more, love your outlook on life and I am 48 and my dh is 58.....so from here on I will go proudly forth with my swing intact
This reminded me when I was thin and shapely at 16 I was walking down the road and this guy yelled out..." With a swing like that you need two porches" To this day I am not sure if it was an insult or not!!

hehe, well atleast there's some mystery to that one. I'd take it as a compliment. One thing I had said was "Ooo girl, shake that fat a**!" Course that was awhile back. Since I've lost weight its been different. When I was dancing at the one party, my booty got compliments ;p
