Default Nothing but LC candy this year! Halloween challenge!

I hate to say it, but with Labor day looming right around the corner, the next holiday in-line is Halloween. Okay, so not everyone celebrates this holiday, but for us who do, we all know that the candy the kids bring into the house, and the office parties can all be daunting when it comes to watching your weight. So I figure it's as good of a day as any to set two goals for.... one, for the weeks working up until Oct 31st... we will lose, maintain, or whatever type of goal you need to set.... and two, we will not be pulled into the eating hoopla that forms around all those evil little bits of sugar covered in bright colorful wrapping.

This is a great challenge for anyone who missed getting in on the Labor day challenge, and those who just aren't ready to start thinking about Christmas presents and New Year's resolutions. Personally, I don't want to think about Christmas until December.... so anyone who's procrastinating thinking about anything more than 2 months away like me.... I'd hope you'd join me in this challenge. I'm posting this on 15 Aug 2005, but there isn't really a starting date.... join whenever you'd like, set your goals, and we'll be here to help you along the way! Good luck and maybe you could "sweeten" the deal with a reward for reaching your goals!

    My goal!!!!!
Since Halloween is 76 days from Aug 15th, I'm setting my goal at losing 40 lbs by that time... that would put me at 190 lbs... and get me back to where I was last June and still have plenty of time to hit 170 by Christmas. Well I'm on my way..... *waving for others to join*

I came on this forum a little late to do much for the Labor Day Challenge.
So let me be the first to join you on this one.
My Goal: To get back at or below the 200 lb mark. I'm at 213 today.
Not as lofty as yours but I'm sure we both can succeed.

Well that's for joining this challenge~ hopefully we can get a few others on the hayride with us! Your goal seems like a challenging yet reasonable goal, and success is the thing that keeps us moving forward. So obviously, it is very smart that you have set your goal for something attainable.

I'm happy to say that on my journey.... I am down a few pounds(thank the LC god for moving in the downward direction finally!).... and this morning I'm sitting at 225. So that's 5 pounds down and 35 pounds to go! Not bad for a weeks work. Now just getting exercise back in as part of my daily schedule and not just an after thought, and I'll be on my way! So I've got about 8 weeks left to lose 35 lbs. And the first five for this challenge were just lowering the carbs, haven't started induction yet(that starts monday morning!) I'm watching my carbs and calories until monday, but I'm just going full-induction on monday. Hopefully I can come back next sunday and report another 5 or 6 lb loss after doing induction. Well good luck to my fellow challenger (and hopefully we'll get some others!) See you in a few days!

I'm game. I've got 30 pounds to goal, so I'd like to get atleast half of that by Halloween. And to be in shape enough to wear a "bellydance" costume for the festivities.... maybe.. hehe.

    Hi, Megan!

I'm ALWAYS up for a challenge! On Halloween, I will be attending a neighbor's party. We were discussing it during DD's birthday party Saturday. I will bring something that I can drink and some of both kinds of my l/c "fudge".

On the pounds front: I regained some weight from 2 very bad days off plan....this puts me BACK at 233. So from now until Halloween (which is exactly 8 weeks away) I want to lose 8 pounds. That's it. And if I manage to do that, I'll be at 223 and that's only 2 pounds from where I was November 15 last year.

    233/233/223 these are my stats!

mizkitty! I just love how spunky you are. A bellydance outfit sounds so cute! My dh would love if I did that someday but I'm so shy I would never take off my winter coat I'd be wearing over it .

i got a little early GLIMPSE of what this will be like...my grandsons just came home with two bags of candy they got from the parade in town... everyone in the parade throws out candy to the kids...

only thing that REALLY bothers me is the bubblegum that my grandsons always give me... they KNOW i used to have it ALL the time... they even bought me a toy machine to MAKE my own bubblegum with wrappers and all from double bubble...

any time they get double bubble out of those candy crane machines they IMMEDIATELY give it to me...

i have a bowl of it that i always toss it into now.... telling them that i will have it LATER...

not that it probably has alot of carbs in it... not even sure how many... but when i chew gum it makes me HUNGRY for other stuff... not sure why...

just like i'm not sure why i felt the need to ramble on about this...*LOL*

just for the record... here is a list of some treats carb counts that i found while looking for the dubble bubble gum count...

closest i could get to it would be about 1or 2 per piece...

I'm so excited! This morning I went in to weigh and I decided to wear my heavier clothes. I wore pants instead of shorts and a long sleeve shirt, jewlery since it'll be getting colder here in Montana. I don't want to wear shorts during the winter to weigh in just because they'll weigh lighter . Anyways I thought I did pretty good because I only gained a pound with all that I had on which I know is just the clothes. They did my measurements and I've lost over 42 inches on my body! They cut you off a ribon just so you can get a visual and it is amazing. The lady at L.A. Weight loss was running around and showing everyone while I couldn't stop blushing!

Wow BBJ, thats amazing!! I kinda wish I hadn't lost my original measurements so I'd know what I've lost, but oh well. Don't blush though, girl, be proud or what you've done!

I'm on my way. Today weighed in at 210 and 23.3% BF. I haven't lost any weight since last week. But have dropped 1 point in the BF column.:jumpgreen

Oh, my! My math is BAD! I said I was 233 and wanted to lose 8 pounds in the next 8 weeks. That will take me to 225....not 223. Duh!

I was still at 233 this morning. But I peed like crazy today. (TMI, I know!) That's carb-bloat fluid leaving my tissues, I'm sure.

I've gotta add this challenge to my list...see ya's!

Unhappy Re: Nothing but LC candy this year! Halloween challenge!

OK, I just weighed myself...I haven't been on plan or really exercising lately and wow have I paid for it!!! I've creaped up to 194, now the heaviest I've ever been so I've got to jump on this before it goes higher. By Halloween I hope to be back down to 180, 14 pounds. So my stats will be 194/194/180

Thanks for getting this challenge started, I'm in dire need for one!!!
