| It's been a long time since I've started a thread, but I need to do this for me. I've been posting these results daily in the "Eating on Plan for a WHOLE Week" challenge thread here, but I think it's time for me to post here each day, instead, since I've gone way beyond a week. Today makes 43 days that I've been sugar-free. That is a record for me in the 8+ years I've been low-carbing. I checked. While what I do may not work for others, it's been working for me. I count calories as well as net carbs, and keep a fastidious count of them in FitDay. Then, I post the results. That way, I can look back and assess when I've lost weight, gained weight, stayed the same, and at what ranges I've been in numbers-wise to garner those results. Anyone is welcome to post in this thread. You don't have to eat what I eat or keep track of your numbers in FitDay. I just wanted a special place to keep track of how many days I've been sugar-free, post my numbers, and discuss what's working for me -- and what isn't. Feel free to chime in, people. Post your numbers, or not. It will be nice just to have some company. And when the day comes that I DO eat sugar, I will go back to the other challenge, stay there for a week, and then come back here. Yesterday, Day 42 Calories = 2310 Net carbs = 35

| I know that TOM approacheth because yesterday at work, shortly after eating lunch, I craved food. This stupid thing only happens one week a month, and this is that week. My calories were good for yesterday, but the carbs were higher than I would have liked. The vegetables in my homemade soup have more carbs than what I thought. We'll see how the scale does by the end of this month with these numbers. Yesterday, Day 43 Calories = 1299 Net carbs = 48

| Carolyn - wow, you're doing GREAT with the exercise! I didn't have opportunity to eat much of a dinner last night since I didn't get home from the dentit's office until 8:15pm. Then I had to fight with no feeling in the left side of my face, so the numbers are low for yesterday. Yesterday, Day 44 Calories = 649 Net carbs = 40

| Carolyn - Mmmmmmmmmmm. Pie. Hot peach pie straight from the oven with vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmmmmmm. Okay. Stop drooling, April. Wow. You did GREAT on your numbers yesterday. Not sure what your calorie and net carb ranges are daily, but those sure look good to me. I am aiming for 1700 - 1750 calories daily, and net carbs of 45 - 50. I track everything religiously in FitDay. Seems that's the only way I can really be aware of what I'm stuffing into my pie hole. Mmmm. Pie. It's your fault. YOU brought it up! LOL!

| its not the p__ i have problems with but the i_______m you put on top....lol I am trying to eat 40-60 carbs per day (with all my work outs, I need that) and keeping calories under 2000( usually between 15-1700) being extra strong about writing down my food has made me more aware about what I eat and don't eat, and when and how much... etc. al. so I guess I did really good yesterday.... today should be just as good... go for that hunk of cheese april.... c

| Oh pie. April, I may join you at a later date counting my calories. Right now I'm doing well without counting but last fall I counted and in the spirit of making this fall as good as last it just might come down to counting calories again. But you are doing great without the sugar. A new personal record, that is awesome.

| Now when I say I'm sugar-free, I also mean that I'm not eating any fruit, flour, low carb products, et cetera. Those are trigger foods for me and I've found that I cannot indulge. If I eat a few blueberries, I'll be jaws deep in Pop Tarts by the next day. I know what I can and can't have. Noel - I'm of the firm opinion that whatever works for YOU, works for YOU. Don't do what anyone else does. You're doing great and I'm glad you've got another game plan. Carolyn - the exercise you're doing....have you seen and felt a difference? I'd like to incorporate some exercise when I can find the time. Speaking of pie...I remembered something I used to do DAILY when I was about 17 years old. After school, I would pick up my younger brother from middle school and we'd head to the local grocery store in town and buy those Hostess Pies -- apple, peach, and cherry -- and munch on those on the way home. Every day. That and Ding Dongs and Ho Ho's. Then we'd go home and eat the large dinner Mom and Grandma had prepared, followed by dessert. He stayed skinny (just like everyone else in the house), and I got fatter. I kept those bad eating habits for YEARS. No wonder I ballooned up to 352 pounds. Since my brothers and sister, and Mom and Dad, stayed thin and I didn't, I oftened entertained the idea that I had been adopted. I wasn't. I'm too much like my Dad to have been adopted. Stupid hormones. They've got me craving sweets, so I ate some of the all-natural peanut butter last night. Thus, my carbs were higher than normal. I also awoke from a bad dream about my youngest daughter and that's why I'm up so early posting here. Yesterday, Day 46 Calories = 1090 Net carbs = 51

| when you say sugar you really mean it... I can still eat an occassional lc tortilla, and lc bread, but don't every day, no shakes... never got into them... I do eat an occassional protien bar i get from herbalife, it has 15 or so carbs, but that is a meal replacement... usually sat before I go to the gym and won't have time to eat before and I am there for two hours or more.... I will have an occassional sf jello, occassional dreamfields pasta(once every two mos or so) but thats about it. oh i do make those peanut butter cookies...' yesterday was 63 carbs 1732 calories... not too bad I can live with it. Exercise: I have noticed that I am feeling thinner with all my exercise, my clothes are feeling too big and that if I keep going at this rate, but christmas I will need all new clothes, cause they will be falling off LOL won't that be great.... my weight, I am still about 5 lbs from my signature (been trying to get that nasty 20 lbs I gained last christmas off all year) but I am closeer that I thought I would be... want to lose another 20 before this christmas....think it will happen.... when you can't sleep and wake up at 3:30 am, get out a tape and do one of those....lol, I know you are busy with dh, kids, work, et. al, that there isn't much time in your life... but every now and then you can fit it in , and once you get a habit of it, you will find the time (even if it is only 15 min at first... better than none) I used to walk home from grammer school, and stop by a little "candy" store at the corner and either get a coke float, shake, or icecream, I do remember ding dongs, swiss rolls, milk duds, ....I was the largest kid in school, hense no friends, and my sweet treats were my comfort... so, I have to really watch the "sweets"... was never big bread eater, which is why it doesn't have the same effect on me... but those sweets,... mmmm i can eat them. my mom and dad weren't small but not hugh, and two brothers that were pretty slim... so I was surounded by lots of eastern european foods... rice, dumplings, pirogies, stuffed cabbage, etc... lots of sour cream, potatoes.... sweets.. kolaches...cookies.... I think this 100 day challenge of no sugar has done me a world of good... I feel like i am more in control of what I am putting in my food, being able to say I don't eat that, instead of i can have a little.... anyway, thats it for now, have a great day. c ![]()

| Carolyn - yeah, I can't trust myself with even a nibble of fruit. You have no idea the cravings that will cause. Since August 1st I've been eating nothing but lots and lots of vegetables, and a little protein. I contemplated eating some sugar-free Jello, but will wait until TOM ends to do that, for reasons I've explained before in my journal. Your numbers look great for yesterday. Thanks for the idea of exercising if I get up early in the morning. I just may do that. I used to stop at a corner candy store on the way home from school when I was in elementary school. I could buy an entire brown sack (small) full of candy for ten cents. I used to get those waxed lips and the waxed "soda" bottles with sugar syrup in them, as well as the candy necklaces, Mary Janes, Sugar Daddy suckers, and rock candy. Man, oh, man.......that was back in the day..........

| If you don't mind, I'll join y'all on this. We just re-inducted on Monday the 12th after almost 2 years off LC. So far, so good! We decided not to use any "frankenfoods" this time, as we think that is why we had so many problems sticking to LC last time, and so far no cravings! My calories were too low yesterday (I weigh about 270), but the carbs were right on track Yesterday Calories - 1587 Carbs - 20
